She is a low energy puppy, one that can be timid at times and fearful. She will need a nice quite home with older children if any and parents that understand she will need time to adjust. She is housed with dogs of all sizes, and even cats and does great with all of them. Her adoption fee of 200 includes her spay, microchip, shots up to date of adoption, a month of pet insurance, and access to our private dog trainer.

More About Staffordshire Bull Terrier Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Bulldog / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 150. Hello everyone! Remember me? I am Samerra. I have been looking for my forever home for nearly a year now. I have some wonderful news that the others of the house say can help me fund my happily ever after. After 9 long months of training and socializing I am able to play with other dogs for the first time! I am a happy go lucky girl, but my play is rough and a bit up front. I do great with submissive or natural type dogs, I do not like dogs that try to boss me around or take my things. My playmate must understand I am just playing, and because I am still new to pack play time I need to be supervised at all times with my play buddy to make sure I do not play too rough and no lines are crossed. But do not worry I learn fast, I listen very well to your vocal commands once I bond with you. My foster momma can tell me to stop just about anything and Ill come right back to her. I am what my foster mom calls an “expert level” dog. This means I am not for those of you who have never owned a pet if you plan to socialize me with other animals. As an only pet I am more than happy to live without issues, with others I will need constant guidance. My foster mom says I am a very good protector, in fact that’s what my name means! I have been a watchful mother since I came home with her, and will for you too. I will make sure no strangers get too close, no one comes into our home or yard unless you tell me it is ok. I am mellow as long as I have a play buddy and easily managed. My energy classification is “couch potato” my foster says. I love children, but I do not understand my size so I should be monitored and trained for each little humans likes. Ill listen, you just need to tell me what you want. If you are interested in learning more about me please contact the rescue by emailing @ happydance@katesrescue.org with my name as the header.

She loves to cuddle and sit on your lap and gets along great with dogs large or small. She will chase cats if allowed but will stop if you tell her to. She would do best in a quiet home as she gets nervous around noises and wants to hide. She would also love a doggy friend as this will help her be more confident and comfortable. If you have the patience to work with this sweet soul and let her have time to adjust she is a sweet girl she has never shown any aggression when scared she just wants to hide. . Estrada needs a special home that does not expect her to love right away, they must understand it will take her time to build trust and bond and even then she may not every be super involved. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (long coat). Adoption Fee: 150. Meet Bolis! This handsome boy is a pure bred German shepherd about 4-5 years old. He weighs around 80 lbs or more we would guess. Bolis does well with other dogs with proper introduction, he lacks general “personal boundary” concepts so an adopter might have to step in if he is bothering another dog and not recognizing corrections. He is ok with both small and big and grew up with two kids. While he is great with dogs and kids he will not do good with any small animals such as cats, birds, or rabbits due to a high prey drive. Bolis is learning to walk on the leash and knows how to sit and give you his paw. He is eager to please you and loves water and swimming in it! He loves to chase balls that you throw for him, and is learning to bring it back to you. Adoption fee is set at 150, this includes his fixing, microchip, shots up to date of adoption, a month of pet insurance, a microchip and a wellness check at our vet within 72 hours of adoption. If you would like to add this darling to your family please download the adoption application found @ katesrescue.org and save it to a computer as a word document. Once edited you can email the completed form to us at happydance@katesrescue.org with “Bolis” as the header.

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (long coat). Adoption Fee: 200. Hello world! I am Jessica. I was previously known to the rescue world as “Baby Jessica” when I was first found just over a year ago. I was adopted but my new family could not give me the care that I require so I am back in the rescue world looking for “the one”. I have a condition where the hip joints in my back legs are missing, so my rear leg mobility is a bit “stiff”. I am a happy go lucky girl; the handicap as others call it does not slow me down one bit! I am able to run and play with big and small dogs, at my foster moms home I had 3 bigger playmates and a few smaller ones too I did magnificent with them all. I don’t like to see my stiff legs as a handicap; I have just as much love to give as the next dog, just need a breather here and there. The vet says currently there is nothing they can, or need to do for my “condition”. As I mature and get older a cart might be needed to help with my old bones, but that’s a long ways away! I am barely a year young and got the energy to prove it. I need a loving family that understands my breed’s ways, and that can keep up with my puppy energy and teach me right from wrong. I am eager to please, but my attention span is rather small so you may have to bribe me with a few treats! I am spayed, up to date, and microchiped. I do good with dogs of all sizes, cats and kids. Though between you and me I could knock the tiny ones over and they might hurt me hanging on my back end so older children are best. Please help me find my forever place! If you are interested in me send an email to katesrescue.org with the header “Jessica” and a rep will contact you with plenty of questions to make sure you are right for me.

Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 150. Hi my name is mouse. I don't really know my back story too much, just that when I wasn't with Kate's Rescue I was alone and hungry. Now I have fattened up and love to run around a play. I do growl a bit at my foster siblings where they try to eat out of the food bowel I am eating from, but my foster mom always corrects me. I've never been mean to them, but come on I don't know how long this good life and all the food I want is going to last! I am crate trained and for the most part potty trained, but if you don't set up a routine for me I may have an accident. I have lots of energy and my foster mom says I'm ADHD...I don't know what that means...but......oh look a squirrel!!! Anyways I hope to one day find my forever family. Could that be you? If you think I could be a part of your wonderful family let the people with Kate's Rescue know so I can meet you and give you lots of kisses if you'll let me My adoption fee includes my spay, microchip, shots up to date of adoption, a month of pet insurance and a wellness check within 72 hours at our vet. If you are interested in knowing more about me please complete the adoption application located on katesrescue.org by downloading and email the completed form to happydance@katesrescue.org with "mouse" as the header.

Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Husky / Mixed (short coat). I am a sweet, relaxed, fun loving girl that would love to be a member of a fun family. My 10 babies found amazing homes through Kate's Rescue and now it's my turn! My favorite hobbies include; playing with our furry creatures, playing with toys, laying around, running around, eating, and napping, being outdoors. I've learned all those things humans like such as sit, stay, come blah blah blah. I have lived with dogs of all sizes and ages and get along great with all of them. I don't really care for cats. I enjoy the great outdoors and often go fishing and hiking with my foster mom. Riding in the car makes me sleepy but I still ride shotgun cus I don't want to miss a thing. I really enjoy jumping over fences so I would love a home with open area to safely run, a covered area or supervision when I am outside; I am quite the escape artist. I would love an active family that will give me the exercise and attention I need. I'm very easy going and very well house trained, send me your app if you think you could be good adoptive parents and I will consider all of my options.

Peyton aims to please her people in everything she does. She loves her people, big and small, though due to her size children over 6 is recommended as when she is playing she can be a bulldozer. Peyton is housebroken, UTD on vaccinations, spayed, and is an excellent guard dog. Already she has alerted her foster to a stranger attempting to break into thei r car! Peyton knows her basic commands, such as sit and stay, and if she had it her way she would be a lap dog. Poor Peyton came from a very bad history, one where she was used in a dog fighting situation. She will need a patient owner that will take the time to teach her there is more for her than fear, with lots of TLC and compassion she will make a magnificent family pet.
