I am a retired Electrical Engineer and State Legislator here in Austin. I breed Yorkies from my three children and occasionally stud out Max when someone calls. I do not have a big operation and seldom have over 4 liters a year. Most of my puppies go to people willing to get on a waiting list that cost them $500. I have 3 female purebreds available now. From experience, they will go fast. Abby had them on August 4. Normally I let my puppies go to their new homes at 8 weeks if they have been weaned from the mother. All tails are docked and dewclaws removed. This is my definition of Purebred Yorkie: A puppy that comes from parents that are 100% Yorkshire Terrier. Their puppies cannot be registered with the American Kennel Club due to restrictions from the breeder. Some breeders want the linage of trophy winning Yorkies to be limited in order to increase the value of stud fees. My puppies come from mothers whose puppies are forbidden to be registered by the AKC unless the mother's breeder releases the hold.
