My name is Stephanie - proud breeder of Yorkshire Terriers in Southern California. We occasionally breed our females, but they are first and foremost our beloved pets. Our stud Flint (a 2.8 lbs. gorgeous boy- pictured), is certified healthy and free of the common Yorkie genetic problems and has been approved for breeding - DNA tested. Our puppies are family raised and loved until they are placed in their new homes! We are blessed with the opportunity to manage the creation of new life within this wonderful breed. We help bring up happy, connected, intelligent and balanced puppies. We try to stick to the traditional Yorkshire standard, but even more importantly revive the true spirit of these mighty little dogs. Our adults are as agile as their original ancestors bred by the Scottish weavers in the 19th century as working dogs, and as fancy and elegant as those who sat in the laps of the rich Victorian Ladies in Yorkshire, England. Ingrained in them is the bravery and loyalty of their first American matriarch - the noble Yorkie named Smoky - found by an American soldier in the jungles of Papua New Guinea in World War II, where she provided a heroic service by dragging communications cable through a 60-foot long culvert that was only 8 inches wide and later worked as a therapy dog for wounded soldiers. After years of breeding German Shepherds, Labradors and Great Pyrenees as Service Dogs, we came to be introduced to the Yorkshire Terriers. We have grown to love them. They are a part of our family and working ranch. They are raised around Children, Horses, Goats, Sheep, Chickens, Bunnies, Cats, etc. We do not breed every heat. We have done the necessary health checks with multiple vets prior to breeding. Our adults do not have hypoglycemia, trachea problems, genetic eye problems, luxating patellas, inguinal hernias, open fontanels, or intervertebral disc disease. All our adults are AKC so you can be convinced your purebred pup.
