    Breed: Bogle
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Boxer / Mixed. Meet Nouveau! This sweet girl came to Labs and More pregnant and gave birth to her pups in a loving and experienced foster home. Nouveau is around 1.5 years old and looks to be a Beagle/Boxer mix at a nice medium size. She has been patiently waiting for her turn and is ready to find her forever family. Nouveau is playful and is happy to entertain herself or to play with another pup playmate. She loves car rides, hanging out in the sun, and heading out on walks with you. Always up for a snuggle, this sweet girl will happily be a lap dog and hang out with you. Nouveau is friendly with people and happy to greet them. She is house and crate trained. She is not an off-leash or dog park type dog, but she is up for hiking, running, or just walking with you. If you are ready for the exciting adventure of adding to your family by adopting a dog, and you are interested in meeting Nouveau, your first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website. The adoption includes the altering of the dog, current vaccinations, and microchipping. For more information on the adoption donation and our adoption process, please visit our website at www.labsandmore.org and click on Adopt. You will find our online adoption application there as well. Once you are approved to adopt, we will discuss how to meet our available dogs. Our dogs are NOT housed at our mailing address. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Thank you for reaching out to rescue a dog in need of hope!

    Jessie

    rescue
    Breed: Bogle
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Beagle / Mixed. Name: Jessie Breed: Boxer Beagle Approximate Age: 3 years old Approximate Weight: 38 lbs Personality: friendly, energetic Observations with Dogs: good Observations with Cats: would probably chase Observations with Kids: good Currently Living at: Foster in the DC region. Jessie needs an adopter! Jessie is a big dog in a little package. The star of the dog park, she loves to play with other dogs, and especially loves larger dogs. (Her best friends weigh in at 70 and 100 lbs.) She is a rough-and-tumble girl and would love an active household that will give her plenty of exercise. This little firecracker has a softer side and is a big snuggler who would love to keep you warm in the winter. Jessie knows the sit and down commands, waits patiently for her dinner and is super food-motivated which indicates she’d be an obedience class superstar. She can be shy at first when meeting strangers, but give her a chance and she'll show you how great she can be. Jessie is extremely loyal, so once you win her trust, she will be your best friend and constant companion. She has even gotten the thumbs-up from her TV namesake, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) from ‘Breaking Bad.’ He took one look at her and said, “Awww, Batdog!” Jessie has done very well in her foster home and hasn't had an accident in months. Of course, after moving into a new location she may need a little transition time. If you are interested in adopting Jessie, please submit an adoption application at http://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/adoption-application-dogs/DC PAWS Rescue does our best to provide accurate and complete information about our adoptable animals. Please note that we cannot make any guarantees about age or breed; we rely upon our rescue partners and their veterinarians to make those assessments. We also cannot make any guarantees about housebreaking and animal temperament, as animals can behave differently through transition and in different environments. Our shelter partners provide a basic vet screening for each animal we rescue, which includes necessary vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and spay/neuter (unless the animal is too young or otherwise deemed by the vet to not be a good candidate for surgery). Please note that this is not a comprehensive medical exam and as such, may not identify any and all medical issues, though our goal is to flag any obvious health issues through the basic vet screening. We share all medical records with adopters and flag any known issues prior to adoption finalization. About DC PAWS Rescue Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We rescue from Pickens County, SC (see additional information below), as well as DC local area shelters, such as Prince Georges County, MD and Wicomico County, MD. We partner with a local rescuer in Pickens County, SC, who saves adoptable cats and dogs from the county’s animal control facility, which lacks the resources to facilitate adoptions to the public. Without a mechanism for local adoptions, all animals not claimed within the mandated hold period are euthanized. For the animals in this rural area, rescue is really the only lifeline. Our rescue partner not only works with DC PAWS to save as many dogs and cats as possible, but she has also established a successful spay/neuter clinic in the community to decrease the number of homeless and unwanted animals over the long term. BE A FOSTER: Fosters make it possible for DC PAWS to save and care for homeless, neglected and abandoned animals! To learn about fostering dogs or cats for DC PAWS Rescue, please visit: http://dcpawsrescue.org/volunteer/fostering/foster-application BE A SPONSOR: For any of our animals! Sponsors help us provide critical medical care, food, boarding and other support for animals facing euthanasia. Individuals who sponsor a dog or cat receive special recognition on the animal's profile.  Sponsorships can also be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and you may designate to whom DC Paws Rescue should provide notice of your gift. Tyler

    rescue
    Breed: Bogle
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 150.00. Tyler is a loving 4 yr old beagle/boxer mix who loves belly rubs and is a cheerful boy who makes fast friends with everyone he meets. He disputes the claim that 42 lbs is too big to be a lap dog. Tyler loves walks, and needs to be an inside-only dog as he does become bored without his humans. He does like to have his short bouts outside sunbathing, though. Tyler will especially appeal to both boxer and hound fans who will appreciate his delightful disposition. Beagle fans will enlist a sense of humor in encountering the eternal puppyhood that is a hallmark of the beagle breed. Boxer fans will find nothing unusual about the kisses that Tyler insists on bestowing and fans of both breeds will appreciate Tyler's fine-tuned snuggling skills. Tyler lives harmoniously with the cats in his foster home and will often deliver a driveby kiss to the ultra dog-friendly Tuxedo cat when passing him by, but barks his displeasure at stray cats and the one cat that swatted him when he first arrived. Tyler is sensitive, and though his world can be crumbled in 10 seconds by a mean ol' puddy tat, he has never met a stranger. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, both small and large, but we recommend another laid-back dog his size. Tyler will give into play if invited enough times. He truly tries to please everyone. Tyler would also do well as an only dog, as he appreciates human company. Tyler adores children and he palpably lights up in their presence. He is great with pre-teen/teenage kids, and as much as Tyler's stomach is ruled by his beagle half, many mornings, his foster mom has to pull back covers, move a 12 yr old's legs off of him, and lift him out the bed so that he will go eat breakfast. It's the one time of day that the clanking of food bowls does not override his drive to cuddle. This affable goof holds no concept of his physical size and truly considers himself a 20 lbs dog, and his initially zealous approach can be overwhelming for toddlers. Tyler is an old man and yet a puppy. He has claimed the living room armchair and when he is curled up with his naturally furrowed eyebrows, he looks like someone's grumpy ol' paw-paw. Tyler is in one minute a slow-moving slothlike snugglebug, and in the next, when directly addressed by name and with eye contact, his face transforms with the glee of recognition, ("Who me?!). The summoner is immediately smothered in kisses. Lots of kisses. (Enter Tyler's boxer half). This is also when Tyler transitions into his lap dog self. Tyler came into rescue, when after 4 yrs of living with his adoptive family, he was surrendered to the local shelter citing that he was being kept as an outside dog and was trying to escape. It was later discovered that his adoptive parent had passed away less than a year after being adopted and other family members had very unfortunately relegated this people-loving inside dog to the backyard. Tyler keeps everyone laughing, unable to resist kissing his sweet face or snuggling with him. Tyler is current on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is current on flea preventative and heartworm preventative and has tested heartworm negative. *Local adoptions (New Orleans and surrounding parishes) preferred. We do NOT ship animals. We will consider out-of-area adoptions when the adopter provides transport. If you are interested, please fill out an online application Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).

Posted Breed: Boxer / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). Well hello there. I'd like to tell you my story. My name is Lucy. Isn't that a beautiful name for a beautiful girl! I am estimated to be a 1 to 1-1/2 year old Boxer/Beagle mix. Of course that is just a guess as I was found wandering a neighborhood. The nice lady who found me tried to find my family but no one came forward. She did keep me for several weeks while trying to find my family and housetrained me. (She took the beautiful picture of me while I was at her house.) I get along with every dog I meet. I love attention from the volunteers and going for long walks. I hope there is a family out there that wants to give me a forever home. Lucy resides at a rescue organization in Arkansas. Please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com to discuss this dog. You can find our adoption application by going to www.Gailspets.org and clicking on the Adoption Application tab. The application, when completed and submitted, will be electronically sent to Gail’s email address. If you live on the East Coast, we work with a wonderful transport company that takes extra special care of the precious cargo that they deliver to anxious new families. Here is a link to their schedule of stops. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B5QBlk0D_jLrdfyVscD8ixoJvWgd0JVM8uG9xtvGLdk/edit **Ozark Mutts and Stuff is listing this dog as a courtesy to another rescue. Binx

    Breed: Bogle
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Boxer / Mixed (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. Here’s Binx, a super-cute 1 year-old Beagle/Boxer mix male with a winning smile, who loves making new friends with both people and other dogs. He found himself homeless at an overcrowded rural county dog shelter so made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have more time to find a great new home. Binx is an active young dog who is no couch potato. He will need a family who would like to incorporate him into alot of their daily activities. Binx gets along well with other dogs so would enjoy having another canine friend in his new home to pal around with. Although Binx is not a fan of crates, he is working on crate-training in his foster home and starting to get the hang of it. He keeps his crate spotless so should pick up the housetraining routine quickly in his new home. As with most young dogs, Binx will need work on his leash manners and obedience but he’s eager to please so working with him should be a rewarding experience. Binx weighs about 31 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Binx. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Binx and to submit an online application. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/2015/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.

    Buddy

    rescue
    Breed: Bogle
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). Meet Buddy! Buddy is a boxer / beagle mix pup around 1 year old and weighs around 32lbs. He is medium sized tan and white mix breed. Buddy is great with kids, cats and other dogs. He is crate trained, house trained, and stays in a fenced in yard. Buddy is smart and sweet. Playful and interactive but not over the top. He is a little shy but warms up quickly. He has had a rough start, after being dumped in the woods in December, so he is just a little unsure of himself sometimes. Buddy has never had an accident while in the house and he rides well in a car. His foster mom says he will lie quietly at your feet and sleep in his crate all night without a peep. He stays in a fenced in yard without trying to get out or dig. If he gets bored, he will chew on things, but most young dogs do. He has only chewed on things in the yard never while in the house. Buddy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on flea and heartworm prevention. (posted 6/25/17, CJ, N/A) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our wonderful dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our many years in rescue.** Adoption: $285 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, food, medical records, spaying/neutering, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed : $120.00 We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip from Alabama. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.
