Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (long coat). My name is Ally and I am a 2 year old beautiful Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix. That's right, they say those are the 2 smartest breeds out there. I was rescued from a very loud, scary shelter and my time was out when Allie's Haven Animal Rescue saved my life. My foster mom says all good things about me. I am potty trained, crate trained and I enjoy the company of other dogs. I am what they call a Velcro dog and love to by right next to the kind people in my foster home. I am a really quick learner and already getting down my basic commands. I know I am capable of learning so many tricks and could really impress any family. If your looking for good looks, personality and loyalty I am your girl. :)

    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult

Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Erica was found wandering and never claimed. Just 2 years old, about 50 lbs and we think an Aussie/Border Collie mix? She is an active, busy, intelligent dog and will need a family who can keep her mind and body occupied. Fenced yard required and she would like another friendly dog to keep her busy. Should be fine with older kids who are respectful to animals but she is a herding breed and experience with these breeds is a plus. She can be a little timid but loves people and wants to please. Fully vetted now, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and micro-chipped. She will not be adopted out as a 'farm' dog or lawn ornament but needs to be a member of the family. E-mail is always the first step for more information or an application.

Name: Clyde Age: 1 year Gender: Male Breed: Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix Weight: 40lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: yes House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Energy level: moderate Temperament: Friendly, calm Adoption Fee: $350 plus tax To adopt, go to: http://www.mendingspirits.org/dog-application.html About Me: Hi, my name is Clyde! I’m a socialized medium size young boy, around a year old. The vets think I’m am Aussie/Border Collie mix. I’m great with cats and other dogs. I’m a very friendly boy who loves to snuggle up next to humans and dogs alike but I also love to go for long walks and play with other doggies. My favorite hobbies include playing with my foster family dog siblings and spending time with my foster family. I’m not very interested in treats or toys right now. I’m also slowly learning commands like sit, stay, shake, heel, and lay down. I am timid around loud noises and fast moving humans; so little children may stress me out. I would love to be a little brother to another doggie in a calm home that can give me lots of love, exercise, and attention. Will you be my forever home?

    Maia

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: 175.00. Maia is a very sweet girl. She has come such a long way! When she first came to us, she was terrified of humans. Now she is loving and trusting, but still leery at times. She needs someone who is willing to spend the time to earn her trust.. It took some trial and error, but at this time she does best with a companion animal, with similar size and energy. (Her BFF Ziva is available for adoption too!). She does need to be crated if you are not home, and preferably at night to avoid accidents. She likes and needs chew toys. She was not potty-trained....we are working on that, but it is a work in progress. Sometimes we go a few days great, then she may have an accident if I don't pick up on her signal that she needs to go out. Crating at night has been extremely helpful She is progressing nicely, but needs someone who is patient, steady and true, and can work with her. She won't do well alone for extended periods of time. Energy level is moderate. She rides in the car OK, but is a bit shy about loading up. She can be taken on outing and behaves well in public. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is an additional $10.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). ROSIE is a 4 yr old Border Collie / Aussie mix who originally strayed from an Amish farm. If you love herding dogs you will love this girl! She is active, a little quirky and eager to please. Rosie is excellent on leash and enjoys her walks/hikes. She has attended several events where she enjoys meeting new people. Rosie does jump up when she is excited - she gets sooo excited to meet people! Rosie prefers to be an only dog but can co-exist with a laid back dog as she does in her foster home. Good with cats. She totally ignored horses at a recent event. She is well behaved and non-reactive to dogs on leash but prefers not to be sniffed. Rosie is lightning fast and LOVES to run! A fenced yard is a must. We would love for Rosie to have an active family who can include her in activities and even get her into dog sports. If you are interested in Rosie please fill an application at www.companimals.org. Adoption $165. Rosie is spayed, vaccinated, tested neg for heartworms and microchipped.

Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). To speed up the adoption process, please complete our Pre-Adoption Application. Hello, my name is Carmine! Pictures don't do my beautiful fur justice! It's a salt and pepper grey with black patches all over. (It's fancy name is merle) I love people and other dogs so much! Cats are fun to chase so it would be best if I went to a home without them. I love walks and running and playing too! It doesn't take long for me to get rid of my energy and then I'm pretty chill. I would love a furry brother or sister to play with. I came from a shelter down in Tulsa Oklahoma all the way up to Minnesota. The shelters and rescues down there are very crowded and I am so excited that Happy Tails Rescue saved me and gave me a foster home to live in! I hope I find a family to give me all the love I could ever want, I would be so grateful! Prior to adoption, I will be altered, vaccinated, health checked, and microchipped. Alfie

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (long coat). DOB: 8/2014 Weight: 60 lbs Alfie is a typical border collie and will need an active home. He is very sweet and loving and good around children. He is extremely smart and will need mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. Border Collies are great dogs but they are working dogs and without a job or activity to keep them busy they can get into trouble. He can be stubborn, so he needs to know what is expected of him. Consistency is key. Alfie has tested positive for heartworms. We would love to find him a foster home where he can go through a three month treatment to kill the worms. We can supply a crate, leash and collar and provide the treatment which requires Alfie to be relatively quiet while going through the program. He has a great future ahead of him if someone can help him get through the next few months! Can you help Alfie? He is selective with other dogs so a meet and greet would be ideal. He has been neutered, up to date on shots, wormed and micrchipped. He tested positive for heartworms and will soon go through treatment as soon as we find a foster home. He came to the shelter 7/17. Our adoption fee is $130.00 and it helps to cover a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview. Jack

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Jack has exceptional intelligence – We are not going to tell you HE wrote this.... but we know if he had, he would have said: I was at the shelter before and found a wonderful, loving home. I loved those folks so much and enjoyed walking with them off leash and laying at their feet and riding in the pick-up. I responded when they called and constantly watched for them to indicate what I was supposed to be doing. However, I messed up --- I thought that if I did not know someone who came to the door, I should be suspicious of them if they seemed to be scared of me and maybe even growl – so I did. They would have forgiven that, I think, if I had not gotten too intent in my desire to protect “my people". I did not understand about grandchildren and how very special they are ---and that they are supposed to get lots of attention, even though they might be taking attention and love that I thought was mine. I am ashamed to say I nipped at a kid and no one had seen why. And unfortunately in another setting I did bite an adult that reached to pick up an item that I thought was a toy for me to play with. So, here I am looking for a new family that knows that I am both quick to learn and intensely loving and devoted to folks who make me theirs " Jack was returned to Safe Haven after these bites in his adoptive home, so he was sent to a professional trainer to assess Jack's safety and if he was safe, to learn what type of home that would be most ideal for him. After many months, Jack is back at Safe Haven and Robin, the trainer, let us know Jack is a nice dog, that deserves another chance in a home better suited for him. He does need a home where he is an only dog, and with no children. Jack actually did very well with his obedience training, and as it says above, he definitely is an intelligent dog! Robin is willing to talk and even meet with any potential adopters and make sure they understand what type of home and training Jack will do best in - but most of all Jack will need an owner that is willing to take the "leader of the pack" role. Jack's new owner will also need to take seriously what can happen when Jack is around new people, and be willing to kennel Jack or keep him in another safe room away from company when they visit. So if you consider yourself fairly dog savy, and are looking for a great young companion, that would love to further his obedience training - Jack may just be a perfect match for you - please contact us and come meet Jack!
