Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Max, 18 mon., neutered, Border Collie cross 18 months old. Max is a neutered Border Collie maybe Aussie cross. His owner was not in a position to care for him, so he's been staying with a foster. And it was not a great situation. He's not shy, or timid, but he hasn't been exposed to a whole lot and needs some confidence boosting and someone who understands the breed. Right now, he's chilling in the big yard with a couple other dogs and doing fine. He had a few firsts today, meeting Bob, his pilot, from Pilots n Paws, and riding in a plane. Then he met a couple of pretty, big, female Kelpies, and he is doing very well. He did fantastic on his first pack walk, no leash needed. Comes to my metal whistle. And so great with the pack. LOVES the water. Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). What's in the box? IT'S A PUPPY! Well two puppies but only one is in the box. This family of 2 puppies was found on the street in a box (yes we are serious) and they were in need of our help. So of course EAPL was able to say YES send them to us we can find them both wonderful homes in Colorado where they will not be left in a box on the street! Morning Star is just as cute as she can be popping out of their box (how sad) but she is happy and playful in spite of what she might have been through. She is about 9 weeks old so we picked a birthday of 2/14/2017. She was 12 pounds on 4/4. She has a little demodex around her eyes (usually caused from stress, bad food, and not being cared for/ left in dirty conditions.) We are getting it taken care of while she is waiting to come to EAPL. She is in a temporary foster home being cared for with her sister Evening Star. She will be here Friday, 4/28/17. Do you want to be the family waiting for this precious little bundle of white fur? Put in an application today!

Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed. Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. PLAYING IN THE RAIN AND MUD.... Meet silly Cassidy who is a goofball at eight months. He weighs about 45 pounds or so. This Aussie/Border Collie Mix is a hoot. He is completely unflappable and a great dog for a gang of kids. No mean bones-just smiles! He is a happy, balanced boy who will be that dog that memories can be made. He needs formal training as he most likely has none. He has enough energy to keep up with the kids, another silly hearted dog, go hiking, running etc. He rides well in the car, loves all humans and has been great with dogs here. Cassidy spent the day in our lake, swimming, chasing the squirrels, running in the mud. He is affectionate and quietly sweet and cuddly. This is an active breed and needs things to do and think about. Adoption is $400 and includes his nueter, rabies, worming, shots, heartworm test, bordatella vaccine, microchip, and all dogs go home on a two week trial. Dogs are met in elk grove. If this sounds like your kind of dog, please first fill out an application at www.thedogspotrescue@aol.com then then contact us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com. We just love this boy and think you will too! Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.
