    Angel Border...

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: Pacific Grove, CA
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed. Angel is a darling 16-year-old, 47 pound Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. She is a sweet, senior gal who deserves a loving home for the rest of her golden years. She is curious and gentle with other dogs and friendly with strangers. In her day, she enjoyed playing with children so we know she's fine with gentle kids in her family, even though her "rough housing" days have come to an end. She tolerates kitties in her family and is just a really good dog who needs somewhere soft to land. She still enjoys being out in the sunshine, so someone with a warm patio and lots of time to give her TLC would be perfect. Angel is house-trained but she does take a daily medication for incontinence, which works well for controlling accidents. She knows basic commands and walks well on the leash. She has some age-related hearing and vision loss. Angel has a tough time on slippery floors but loves to wander around a yard or carpeted house. Angel has been a loved member of a family for the last 16 years but they are struggling to care for her and know that she deserves better in her senior years.

    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Baby
    Location: Agoura Hills, CA
Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Meet Wenta! She is an adorable loving 5 month old that was rescued off the streets of Thailand. She was born on the street, and had fended for herself since birth, watching many of her friends and siblings die along the side of the road. She then was dumped at a temple where she was attacked by larger dogs. She was one of the very lucky ones. She was seen by some of the rescuers that we work with there and was pulled out, cleaned up, stayed for a 30 day health check to guarantee her health, and then once completely healthy, was flown here to Los Angeles to now search for her new future and a life she once only dreamed possible. She is a sweet adorable girl who is ready for her new chance. Her sister Dame is also available. Our adoption fee is $300 which helps offset some of the flight costs. rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed. Shy Eddy may not have had the most rewarding beginning. It is hard for him to trust, and consequently he can be very shy and scared. He has had to learn how to defend himself against the world and now needs someone to help him learn to trust again. He puts on a brave face at first, but that is not the real Eddy – he is actually terrified that someone might hurt him, so he keeps them at a distance. Eddy is quite the ladies man! Go ahead and play a little hard to get and he will be intrigued! He may even try to crawl into your lap to give you kisses! Guys arent nearly as much fun for this shy guy – he finds them to be rather intimidating and scary. Once he knows you, he is an amazing little friend! When he is comfortable he loves to chase toys, sniff things, and be like every other dog. Eddy would love to be in a nice mellow home where he can relax. Relaxing is almost as important as playing for this guys well being! He needs to know that he is safe and that he has a confident and quiet leader to help him see that the world isnt such a bad place and that people can be fun!If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/html/adoption_application.html

    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed. Denny is a happy and playful 5 y/o herding dog. He’s a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, and weighs approximately 50 lbs. Denny loves everything and everyone! He’s great with most dogs, and is respectful around cats and children. He’s fully housetrained and crate trained as well. Denny grew up on a farm without a ton of human contact, and his training is going wonderfully! We’ve been working on Frisbee skills, and he’s a natural! As long as all family members are on the same page, Denny learns in a snap. Like most herding dogs, he loves to keep busy…so lots of playtime will be important. And did we mention that he’s just hilarious? He responds so well, whether you’re praising him for being a good boy, or just laughing out loud at his silly antics. Denny would make a wonderful dog for an active couple or family. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/html/adoption_application.html

    Hoss (CP)

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Dallas, TX
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed. Howdy, I'm Hoss and just like my Bonanza namesake I'm a gentle giant who'd do anything for my family. I'm a 54lb, 6 yr old Aussie mix, Just look at my beautiful silver markings!!! I'm eager to please and full of fun. I love cuddles and my tail is always wagging. I know how to sit, and I'm learning shake and stay. I am house trained/crate trained and I love going on car rides. I know how to sit nicely in the truck cab and enjoy the view. My gorgeous smile will win you over and my big goofy paws and fluffy wiggle butt would love to find a place to rest at your home. I'm a good pub dog and enjoy going out to places with my foster mom. I have a sad back story in that my human momma and poppa both died and I was left chained up on a rural property until a kind rescue group stepped in and got me to safety before the cold weather set in. I'm eager to please and promise to be loyal to you for the rest of my days. How bout we meet up sometime soon?

    Tess Goldie

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Cuba, NY
Posted Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (long coat). Saved in Memory of Goldie - Best Dog Ever! The GOLDIE Transport just arrived at Joyful Rescues, saving 19 lives. This transport was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yudikaitis, parents of our staff member, Katie, in loving memory of Katie's "Best Dog Ever", Goldie. We thank them for choosing to honor Goldie with a living tribute, and hope the furry lives saved provide a bit of a silver lining to Katie's loss. Tess as born about December 16, 2014 and weighs 46 lbs. She is one gorgeous, very sweet, girl that is doing well with the other dogs, but would also be fine as an only dog She was taken to the shelter as a stray so we really are learning as we go and so will you. The shelter felt she was an Australian Shepherd, but here in the north she looks more like a Border Collie so ultimately her breed will be up to you! One thing to keep in mind is that this girl has fur and lots of it! It's wonderful to run your fingers through and warm your hands, but you'll also be wearing it. She ADORES toys and will carry them around and she ADORES her humans and makes a great lap warmer and she also liked to "hug" you. When out for show and tell at Petsmart she was all wiggles when kids came to see her - pretty cute. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $275.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption. Can't Adopt Me? Buckner

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Cookeville, TN
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (long coat). This puppy is located and fostered in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 in TN, $250 plus transportation fee for out of state adoptions. Let Buckner be your new best bud! Look at this beautiful boy who sports a twinkle of blue in one eye! Buckner is an Australian Shepherd mix who is around 8 months old and he is ready to play. He is a fun and fluffy breed mix who will make his forever family a fantastic friend. Since this babe is still a puppy he will need some patience along with all the laughter and lounging. In his new home he will be happiest with a fenced in yard so he will have room to run out all his herding dog instincts. Buckner is good with other dogs and would likely enjoy some four-legged siblings of the canine variety to romp and roll around with, just as long as they are as sturdy and fun-loving as he is! Buckner is also friendly with cats but tends to give chase if given the chance. He is one excellent choice for a family willing to make the commitment to a dog who will invest ten times what he is given. One thing Bucker hopes you will understand is that he is wary of strangers at first, but his cautious side will quickly turn to playful with some kind words and treats. He is crate trained and rides well in the car. With consistent schedule he will be housetrained at a new home in no time. Buckner will bring you all the best in the new year! If you feel your family would make our Buckner the "best boy on the block," apply to adopt him today! If you are interested in this pet but have questions that are not answered here, please fill out our Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. The first step to adopting is to complete our online Adoption Application: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide, so distance is not a problem in most areas. We have a variety of transportation options to bring your new family member to you. Typical transport cost to the northeast is $150, but may be less depending on your location (Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA residents.) How To Adopt | Adoption Application | Pet Inquiry Form | Long Distance Adoptions A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Adoption donations vary and are subject to change without notice. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption.

    Amber Peache...

    rescue
    Breed: Border-Aussie
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Cuba, NY
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). The Kramer Family Saved My Life! "I wanted to sponsor this transport for a long time. I feel honored and blessed to be able to help save these beautiful lives! It brings me to tears when I see their little expectant faces in the cages. I named several of them after beloved dogs of mine that have crossed the "rainbow bridge", and of course after my "soul mate" Mandy - the best dog I have ever had the privilege to be mommy to, along with some family members also in heaven who were animal lovers. Thank you to the people at the southern kill shelters for their incredible efforts to save as many lives as they can, and to our amazing volunteers for clocking all these hours on the road to save precious lives." ~ Cheryl Kramer This adorable young lady was born about February 17, 2016 and may top out in the 45-50 lb. range. She was adopted out and returned and they did a genetic test that showed she was mostly Aussie/Border Collie/Foxhound. Amber came back to us after many, many, visits to their vet for meds, tests, xrays, etc. due to off and on loose stool that they couldn't handle as they lived in a neighborhood, always leash walking, and it was difficult to pick it up properly. She was there 5 1/2 months and the owner boarded her twice for two or more weeks each time. That is a lot for a puppy. When she returned we didn't continue any meds and she was eating the plain Science Diet food we feed here. We were all watching to see her poop which is hard here sometimes as there are 8 acres for them to play on and the good dogs generally go way out back. Well, three days later there it came! It was a perfectly normal poop. OK, so let's keep watching.....a few weeks later another normal poop! She was HAPPY to be back, running, playing, with the other dogs and much less human stress over what her poop looked like. There was no other dog in the home and we feel she does need another dog this time and a safe area in which to play. When you live with a pack of dogs you realize how much our stress makes them stressed. At time we become anxious we realize what we are doing to the pack and we just have to mellow out for their sake. She was being tested positive for giardia which is a rather common water living parasite that causes loose stool. Most healthy, non-stressed (emotionally or physically, dogs are able to carry some giardia naturally. If you don't know what this is please do look it up. A healthy dog's immune system usually keeps it under control or even eliminate it. If they carry it naturally at times of stress it can kick up. Giardia is common in creeks, ponds and even mud puddles. We feel strongly this girl just needs to have more fun in a more relaxed environment and her immune system will work with this. Perhaps, if it kicks up with another move into a forever home she may need some flagyl, but this poor girls body needs a rest if possible. If you are considering adopting Amber, please discuss with your veterinarian. Her complete medical history will go with her and because giardia can be given to humans probably no little kids in her next home would be best at least for awhile. OK, back to Amber - she is fun, funny, very human social, loves to snuggle, house trained, good on leash, comes when called and will hang with you off leash, great in a car, and loves children! What a wonderful beautiful soul!
