Posted Breed: Boston Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed. I’m Tessa, and my foster mom says I’m a great dog. I lived with three other dogs here in New England, but my owner died, so we all ended up in rescue. PAWS took me and my brother Tim, while another group took the other two. Since we are not a bonded pair, we are being fostered separately, but neither one of us would complain if someone wanted to adopt both of us! I’m a girl that nurtures my inner puppy! I still have a lot of bounce, and really enjoy my toys (but I don’t like to share them). I will greet you enthusiastically when you’ve been away from the house, but am mostly calm in my everyday life. I enjoy going for walks (although I still want to pull) and exploring a fenced yard. I am house trained, but as with most seniors, I can’t “hold it” as long as I could in my younger days. I will, however, use a pee pad if you can’t let me outside. I am very food motivated, so I’m easy to train if there’s something you want me to learn. I’m now fostering with several dogs ranging in size from 10 to 50 pounds (both male and female) and get along well with all of them, although I really don’t like the youngster bugging me! My ideal home will have lots of love for me and get lots of love from me. I would prefer a home without very young children because I’m not used to that much excitement. I could be an only dog, but also could enjoy a canine friend. I could go for walks, or just hang out in a fenced yard. I guess you could say I’m not terribly fussy, as long as the love is there. Name: Tessa Sex: Female Breed: Boston Terrier mix Age: 11 as of 1-10-2017 Weight: 22 pounds Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinations: Up to date as of 8-9-16 Heartworm: Negative as of 6-19-17 Microchipped: Yes BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Dogs: Yes. Good with multiple ages (beyond puppyhood) and sizes Cats: Unknown Children: Has met older children, and was good with them. Adoption Donation: 200.00 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Interested in a specific dog, please fill out an application if you are interested in a dog. The number of individual inquiries is overwhelming and we are finding it difficult to respond to each one. We cannot guarantee you will receive a timely response. Paws New England is a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our dogs housed in one location - they are in foster homes both in New England and in our southern foster homes. If you're interested in a specific dog, please complete a short online application and you will receive a reply within 48 hours so you can ask questions. At present, if a dog is listed on our website, the dog is considered still available HOWEVER, may have applications that have come in before yours but it's still too early to know if any are a good match; therefore we encourage you to apply. NOTICE WITH REGARD TO LOCATION OF DOGS: Please note: Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a brick and mortar building to house the dogs we rescue. We have found that dogs in foster homes are much more adoptable because they have been observed in a home setting. Dogs listed with Paws New England typically reside in various locations throughout the south (primarily Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas) and New England (not necessarily in the state of Rhode Island). You will be notified by the adoption coordinator of the location of the dog you are interested in so you have the ability to decide whether to pursue adoption or not. Dogs transported to New England are done so at a fee of $150.00 paid directly to the transporting company by Paws New England; no additional transport costs are responsibility of adopter. This fee is included in the adoption donation. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your dog will help others in need. All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history. Paws New England abides by the dog importation regulations set forth in the states of MA, CT, NH and RI.

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boston Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). All of our adoptable animals are in the care of volunteer foster parents. The foster families provide a safe place for the animal until placement. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please email us info@alabamaspca.org. Not sure you're ready to adopt? Fostering an animal may be a great way to find out if you're ready! Ask about our Foster-to-Adopt Program Can't Adopt or Foster? Maybe you'd like to provide sponsorship for an animal. Sponsors are needed to help with vet care expenses as well as food, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, etc. Monetary donations may be sent via http://paypal.com to donations@alspca.org. You may also mail your donation to Alabama SPCA, P.O. Box 78, Northport, AL 35476 For more information, please contact us at info@alabamaspca.org This vivacious 3 year old terrier mix is as happy as he is handsome! Bodie is a fun loving guy who loves to go on walks to get rid of that extra energy, meet new people and check out the neighborhood. He is currently living with 2 small female dogs and doesn't seem to mind them although he prefers his foster moms undivided attention. When he is not starving for attention Bodie also love destuffing his dog toys although he would never think about touching your shoes. The ideal home for Bodie would be a home with a schedule, someone to take him walking/running daily and a few kids to cuddle on the couch with Our Adoption Fee is $125, unless otherwise noted, and goes towards the vet expenses for the animals in our care. Included in the adoption contribution is spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines, and microchip. For more information, please contact us via email info@alabamaspca.org
