    Breed: Brittany

    Location: Curwensville, PA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Beautiful "Young at Heart" active senior looking for a special family to take him into their heart and home! On Saturday, April 1, Bower became a new NBRAN foster. He is a 12 year old liver and white unaltered male whose family surrendered him because of health issues; and the shelter thought he was unadoptable so he was going to be euthanized. That afternoon, during his bath, as I lathered him, I could feel every bone on his body, backbones, hipbones, shoulders, ribs, everything. I finished his bath in tears. On Monday, April 3, I took him to the vet for neutering and dental among other things. At his weigh-in, he was 30 lbs which he should have been 40 at least. At his final vet visit on May 2nd to complete his boosters, Bower weighed in at 41.5 lbs. So now Bower is neutered, housebroken, fully vetted microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. He is heart worm negative and energetic. Don't let his age fool you! Bower has the energy to out run any younger dog. He does all right with cats, finds them interesting, but will chase them if they run past him. He loves people and does well with children. He loves to run in the yard, but will need a fenced yard to keep him safe. He would do well in an active home with walks and hikes. He travels well in the car. Bower LOVES to be with his people, to cuddle on the bed or be a lapdog. Bower was confined and ignored for most of his life so he is looking for a family that will be patient, spend time with him, love him and teach him new things. If you think you are that family, please fill out an application at the following link: https://www.nbran.org/adoptappl.asp . Bower's adoption fee is $200.00 which helps to offset his vetting fees and allows NBRAN to help more of these wonderful pets. Bower is also available at a reduced adoption fee through NBRAN's Senior to Senior Program. Information regarding the Senior to Senior Program can be found on our website here: http://www.nbran.org/index.asp. After filling out an adoption application you can contact Gaye Bricker at BeauBritt2@aol.com . Transportation can be arranged for up to 1500 with his new family driving the last 100 miles of his journey. Please consider giving this sweet boy the loving home he so rightly deserves!

    NY/Remi

    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: Curwensville, PA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Remi is a female, orange and white 11 year old weighing 54 pounds, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, and spayed. Remi came to NBRAN as her owner was placed in a nursing home. She is a sweet and playful lady who loves going for walks and is great on a leash. She will counter surf and get into the trash if given the opportunity to do so. Remi is house trained, well behaved, and rides great in a vehicle. Remi has some arthritis and cataracts, so her night vision is compromised. Her near vision is poor and as a result, she may understandably nip your finger as she is hoping for something yummy. Remi may be viewed as being “pushy” by some other dogs. Remi needs a loving home where her owners are home most of the time as she needs frequent potty breaks. She is well behaved if left alone for an hour or so. She is good at night and may need an outing around 3:00 a.m. She rises early ready for her breakfast and the day’s new adventures. She needs someone who will walk her often and whom understands her vision issues. This happy gal would be safest with a physical fence. Remi is being fostered in the Central region of New York. If you are interested in adopting her, please complete an adoption application at http://www.nbran.org/adoptappl.asp. Remi’s adoption fee is $200; she qualifies for our Senior to Senior program, so be sure to inquire if you are eligible. Please feel free to contact Yvonne Mehlenbacher with any questions about Remi at yvonnem@geneseo.edu. We transport up to 1,400 miles.

    SWEET

    rescue
    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Jackson, NY
Posted Breed: Brittany (short coat). 4/23/2017 UPDATE: Sweet has been doing very well considering she is on restricted activity. Unfortunately this means she has to be an only dog. I do allow her out in the yard where she runs around for a short period of time. Then it's back in her crate to rest. She spends quite a large amount of time on the couch chilling. As far as her medications 2 are available from Rite Aid under their discount program under $20 a month. Still working on finding the best price for the third med. She will be on these meds for the rest of her life. So I realize that this is a large responsibility but Sweet is such a wonderful girl she deserves a chance at the most normal life available. Hoping there is someone out there who is willing to give her that chance. UPDATE: Sweet has been home for 5 days and is doing very well. She is confined for another week, No strenuous activity or stress of any kind. Hoping that when we go back to the vet on the 17th her meds will be reduced and she can go back to moderate activities. If you are interested in adopting Sweet please keep in mind that she will be on heart meds for the rest of her life. Also her activities will have to be curtailed. This is an UPDATE about SWEET. It has been discovered that Sweet has an enlarged heart, heart murmur, fluid in her chest, and has been at the vet's since thursday, 3/30. She seemed to be improving but there has been another problem. It appears she also has lung damage and cannot be stressed in any way which even includes riding home in the car. She will be staying another couple of days to see if the coughing, which indicates the lung problem, subsides. Just don't know what's going to happen...PAWS CROSSED!!!!! Anyone interested in donating for her vet care go to https://www.gofundme.com/help-cover-sweets-vet-billls. SWEET is a 5 yo, 32 lb, Brittany Spaniel, who absolutely lives up to her name. She was used as a breeding dog probably her whole life. A wonderful rescue took her from the horrible conditions in which she had been living. Due to those conditions she was heart worm positive and had to be treated and then was required to be held in confinement for 6 weeks. She has been wonderful, so patient while waiting to be let free. WELL the time has come...as you can see in the video she is having a great time in the backyard with the rest of the pack. SWEET will do well with another non-dominant dog. She gets along with both male and female. Is crate trained, housebroken, needs a fenced in backyard where she can get lots of exercise. SWEET deserves a happy, well-cared for, loving family to make up for her sad beginnings. There is an adoption process consisting of an application, home visit, contract and adoption fee. Wilma's Orphans is a 501c3 Not for Profit rescue organization. Any and all donations are tax deductible. If you are interested in this dog go to www.wilmasorphans.com for the link to the adoption application.

    Location: Curwensville, PA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Meet Miss (lucky) Penny. She’s so sweet you can’t help but fall in love with her. Penny doesn’t know she’s 14! Yep, 14! She thinks she’s still a young dog. She loves to play with her foster sister, and looks forward to walks and car rides. Don't let this petite 27 pound girl fool you. She has an adventurous spirit so she will escape if she is not watched carefully. Penny will need the security of a fenced yard to run around in. She is friendly to other dogs and absolutely loves people. Penny has a great appetite and doesn’t notice that she is missing teeth and that the ones there are not that great. A bully stick is Penny’s favorite thing to chew; however, she gets excited about any snack that might come her way. Because Penny is slightly under weight, she will need to remain on a high quality, grain free kibble. She makes sure she never misses a meal. Penny’s hearing isn’t quite what it used to be but she doesn’t miss out on anything. She loves being part of a pack, but doesn’t seem to mind when left on her own as long as her soothing puppy music is playing in the background. She would be fine being an only dog if she gets lots of attention and is part of the family. Penny is healthy (passed a senior blood panel), UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, (on preventative), spayed, and micro chipped. Her adoption fee will be $200 to offset her vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Penny a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.NBRAN.org, Adoption Center, Adoption Application. Once the application is complete, you will hear from your local area State Coordinator. T his process includes a detailed phone interview, a vet check, and a home visit. Penny is eligible for our wonderful Senior-to-Senior program. If you are a senior, age 60 or over, her adoption fee is $100.

    Breed: Brittany

    Age: Senior
    Location: Curwensville, PA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Deuce is not wild unlike in cards. He is a 10 year old liver and white Brittany with a cute face and a chubby build. Deuce has had a pretty hard time in life and now it's time to find him that special family so he can finally feel safe and loved. He has been previously adopted from a shelter and then returned because he does suffer from anxiety which is currently under control with a daily medication. He responds well to reassurance, wants to be a lap dog, hates to be separated by any door, so with this guy a crate is not an option. It is recommended that he go to home as an only dog since he has shown some aggression to other male dogs. So if Deuce could pick out his perfect home, here's what he'd like. Someone who is home most of the time, be an only pet, someone who will work with him to help him FINALLY feel safe and loved, and of course someone who thinks he's the most special loving dog in the world. He is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on all vaccinations. Deuce is currently in foster care in Michigan. His adoption fee is $200.00 if you are 60 years or older, he does qualify for the $100 senior to senior adoption fee. He can be transported up to 1200 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles of his journey. NBRAN does require a home visit and vet check. If you are interested in Deuce, please go to nbran.org and complete an online application. The coordinator in your state will contact you. The Michigan Coordinator handling the adoption for Deuce is Joanne Denomme. Please contact her if you have any additional questions at jojodenomme@gmail.com

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). This Very Handsome Liver and White boy is looking for his new forever home! I am a good boy. My name is Thomas, but my Mom calls me Tommy. NBRAN saved me, flea and tick ridden and with some small bite wounds, from a shelter. I am a senior boy (8-10 years old) with age related health issues including some lumps and bumps, arthritis, and hip dysplasia. I also have some chronic breathing issues. I was 10 lbs. overweight when rescued, but now I’m a good weight at about 50 lbs. My health issues have improved with weight loss, exercise, medical care, and good food, but a home without stairs is optimal. They say I am very “soft” because I get scared at loud noises or lots of commotion. I try to leave when I am uncomfortable. I get a little scared in new situations, but I adjust quickly. I am a good boy. They say I’m a very sweet, handsome boy. My tail wags a lot. I like people and other dogs, but NO CATS. I love to chew (my teeth are nubs) and need to have appropriate chew toys or I will find something inappropriate to chew. I love to explore the backyard with my foster sister, dig for “critters,” and chase squirrels. I will need a fenced yard at my new home to keep me safe as I chase little critters! Life is good at my foster home and I am a happy boy, but I would love a “forever” home of my own . I am a good boy. My adoption fee is $200.00 which allows NBRAN to help more of these wonderful pets. If you are interested in taking me into your home, please fill out an adoption application at the following link: https://www.nbran.org/adoptappl.asp . After filing out the adoption application you can contact Gaye Bricker a BeauBritt2@aol.com to discuss your interest in adopting me. NBRAN has team of awesome volunteers that will help in transporting me up to 1400 miles to my new home! How about it... Am I your guy? I'd love to have have a forever home of my own. I am a good boy!

    Breed: Brittany

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hello, folks I’m Riley!! I am one handsome orange and white 8 year old. Just look at me, aren’t I a handsome guy? I’ve been in foster care now for a while and I’m ready to move forward with my forever family. I especially hope that my new home will have me as their only dog and can give me all the attention that I deserve. I love treats and take them very gentle. I love to be snuggle and have a blanket on me. I love just to be with you and lay my head in your lap. So, let me tell ya a little bit about myself. First, I’m am housebroken and have very few, if any accidents! (I am able to go for 8 hours, but would like to go out more, if possible.) I love all the praise that I receive when using the restroom properly. Secondly, I’m a curious guy and love to hunt in the house so please close and secure cabinet doors and drawers especially in the kitchen where I’ll find a yummy treat!! Also, I need a fence that is at least 4’ . Hey, can you teach me about stairs? They are weird to me as I’ve not had much experience climbing them and want to learn. Oh, and if you must crate me I’m learning that too. I love being w/ my owner/s and will follow them everywhere. If you work from home, can come home for lunch or are retired I’m your guy!! You would be my perfect forever home. Oh, and I hope you don’t mind as I might sleep in the bed with you too, but my bed is great if you don’t. Foster Mom says I am enormously gentle and sweet with my two-legged Foster Siblings. The vet I see currently thinks my health is decent. So, come on what are you waiting for? Please complete an application and mention Riley! I promise you won’t regret it. Peace and Lots of love, Riley A Note from NBRAN and Foster Mom: Riley has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. EPI. That's his only diagnosis and it has become non-problematic. You take one enzyme tab, crush it, then let it sit in warm water for 15 minutes and then pour it on his food. Then he can eat it about five minutes. No problem. If someone reads about EPI they could get scared off but he has truly settled in and we have a routine and it is causing no problems. (When he took double the amount of enzyme, it was a problem because he was in a desperate panicked search for water then had a few accidents peeing in house. One tab and the thirst is manageable.) The EPI also needs the B12 injections and I believe they're $10-15. Monthly. Pancre Plus Tabs 500 is $80 and last 250 days, which lasts longer than 8 months. He sleeps in a crate nightly - no crying or barking. He is crated while we are not home. Does not pee or poop in crate. Needs a big one though - he does seem to freeze at times when putting in but usually quickly collapses on his many pillows and blankets. If you are interested in adopting me, please visit www.nbran.org to complete an adoption application on me. Contact either Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net or Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com , for more information after you have filled out the application. The fee to adopt Riley in Kansas is $200 to offset part of his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful pets. Transportation can be arranged up to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for the last 100 miles.

    Location: Curwensville, PA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). This handsome boy is Calvin. He is approximately 9 years old. With that alert look and sparkle in his eye, would you believe he is blind? Most people that meet him for the first time don't even recognize that he is blind because Calvin's blindness doesn't stop him from enjoying life. Calvin was surrendered by his family after he went blind and they were not prepared to cope with a blind dog. His blindness was most likely the result of SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) a disease in dogs causing sudden blindness. But poor Calvin was also dealt another bad card that his previous owner probably did not address or recognize. He also has a condition called Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) which is the inability to properly digest food due to a lack of digestive enzymes made by the pancreas. He was very thin and basically starving to death when he arrived in Arizona. Now with a special enzyme mixed in his food twice a day, he is thriving and almost getting FAT! This enzyme is ordered from an on-line company and reasonably priced. Calvin is one special boy and deserves someone that recognizes just how special is really is. He is very loving, likes belly rubs and enjoys sitting in "his" chair on the front porch "watching" the neighborhood. If you would like to know more about Calvin or may be interested in adopting him, please contact Robin at britrescueaz@cox.net. Our adoption process includes an application, interview, home visit and vet check. His adoption donation is $200. Any person aged 60 years or over may adopt a senior dog (8 yrs or older) for $100. Calvin's not the dog for you? That's OK, we understand. But you can still help give him a great life. Contributions for Calvin's care can be made via our website www.nbran.org. Please designate that your donation is specifically for AZ-Calvin.
