    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Don’t let a dog with no tail turn you off. Scout is a 6-1/2 year old orange and white male who is both very handsome and very well mannered. Scout was adopted from Nbran when he was a puppy and then returned due to no fault of his own. When he came back to Nbran he was an over weight dog with 2 bad knees. He has since slimmed down and his knees are almost completely healed. He might never be a barrel racer, but he has no issues with mobility and his quality of life is excellent. Scout loves, loves, loves to play fetch with his fish. He also likes to cuddle in bed, but will also spend time in his crate. He gets along well with most other dogs. He’s not been tested on cats nor children, although he should be fine with older considerate children. This boy has been a joy to foster, he’s 100% house trained and the only trouble he’ll get into is when there's some food within reach. Guess he doesn’t like being slim. While Scout also loves to go for walks, he does pull very hard, so a strong arm is required to walk him. Scout is healthy and is UTD on all vaccinations, is heart worm negative, on preventative, he is neutered and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in Scout please go to nbran.org and complete an online application. The coordinator in your state will contact you. NBRAN does require a home visit and vet check.Scout will also require a fenced yard. He will be transported up to 1200 miles. The Michigan Coordinator handling the adoption for Scout is Georgene Norris. Please contact her if you have any additional questions at georgenenbran@yahoo.com

    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). This gorgeous redhead is appropriately named "Red." He's about 5-1/2 years old and as sweet as they come. He gets along with other dogs, people and even cats! Red was found lying in a yard in rural Missouri. It was determined that he had a broken pelvis (likely from being hit by a vehicle) and was heartworm positive. He had the good fortune of being called to the attention of a vet in the area that loved the Brittany breed, and she got him on the road to recovery--finding a surgeon to do the surgery on his pelvis and donating much of her professional expertise, time, and resources while fostering him in her home through both his surgery recovery and his heartworm treatment. After he was neutered, we learned that the pins for Red's surgery had migrated. Orthopedic surgeons at the State's vet school have discouraged additional surgery with the belief that it could cause nerve damage. Because his hips could be vulnerable, Red will need to go to a home without a lot of stairs and a home that has a fair amount of carpet or stable rugs to provide him with good footing. He will also need to maintain a healthy weight so that his joints aren't overtaxed, and it is not recommended that he jump on/off beds and furniture but he loves his dog bed so that shouldn't be a problem for him! Red runs and plays with the other dogs and loves being part of a pack. He is overall very happy with a good quality of life. He loves attention and loves being brushed and petted and will gently nudge your hand to continue if you stop. Red is also crate trained. Red gets around well and has shown no signs of pain in the two months he has been on his current medication and supplements. The costs of those items will vary depending on region but that is also something to take into account when considering if Red is a good fit for you. Red is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He will be a great addition to the family who is aware of his history and willing to keep him on the right path. If you would like to learn more about Red, please contact the Missouri coordinator, Lisa Langeneckert at mo-britts@sunlover.net. Red can be transported via our wonderful all-volunteer Brittany Railroad.

    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (short coat). Introducing Gunner or as foster mom calls him Gunner The Stunner. This 2 year old orange and white boy is such a character. He's spicy, full of energy, and all Brittany boy. Foster mom says he has stunning good looks. Just look at those markings and that charming smile. Gunner spent the first few months of his life living in a pet store. He was purchased by a family that did not have Brittany experience, so the rest of his life was spent in a crate. The family was not prepared for his curiosity and energy, nor did they work on social skills with other dogs. Gunner needs to continue to learn how to take queues from other dogs. His clumsy ways and silly demeanor can give the wrong message to some dogs. Gunner just finished a 4 week basic obedience/social skills training class. His new family will need to be committed to future obedience training. It will be so easy to build on his basic skills of sit, stay, come, off, and kennel up. He is very smart and needs to stay busy and focused. He is very obedient and listens well. He must have a pack leader that is firm but fair, as he wants a master he can please. Gunner needs to be an only dog, as he is starved for human attention and does not like to share his people. Gunner’s ideal home is without children and other pets. Gunner is your typical young Brittany. He loves to chew, he loves to play with toys and he is devoted to his people. He is a LOVER. This boy loves to cuddle and he wants his people to be close to him at all times. Someone who works from home or active retired would be perfect for him. Gunner brings excitement to the house. He has a playful energy that says let’s have fun and be silly. Gunner is looking for a home with a 6ft fenced yard. No more apartment/condo life for him. Gunner tends to get itchy, so he will require a high quality, (non-chicken) grain free kibble for the rest of his life. He gets a daily does of fish oil that keeps his ears, skin and coat looking stunning. His new family must be committed to this food. He is currently on a Kibble called Zignature, which is approximately $54-$65 per bag. Other brands would need to discussed prior to an adoption. If you are ready to have fun, have no other pets or children in the house, want a cuddle buddy, and are committed to future training, then please apply today. Gunner is healthy, UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, (on preventative), neutered, and micro chipped. His adoption fee will be $375 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. Please complete the on-line application by visiting www.NBRAN.org. Ideally, we would like to see Gunner adopted within 6 hours of Metro Denver, Colorado. Outside that range is at the discretion of the State Coordinator. Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.

Posted Breed: Brittany (short coat). Please contact Marianne for more information about this pet. Mikey is an active 11-year-old who came into rescue when his owner went into assisted living. Mikey gets along well with his foster sister, an 11-year-old Lab. They have been left alone in the house for several hours and there have been no accidents and no chewed or destroyed items. Mikey has received good behavior reports from doggie daycare and the groomer. Mikey sleeps on his bed on the floor through the night. He knows how to use a doggie door. Mikey would be good as an only dog or with another friendly dog who isn’t too rambunctious. Mikey is a “Nature Boy.” On pleasant days, he likes being outdoors. He’ll sniff around the entire yard and then lie down and watch the clouds roll by. He is well behaved in the car and loves to go for rides. He is moderately cuddly and loves a good massage. He likes his walks but needs some work with pulling – a harness would be a good idea. Mikey will need to be in a home with a secure 6-foot fenced yard and preferably with trees that house critters Mikey loves to watch. Mikey does get into a little mischief. He likes to take any used Kleenex that might by lying around or even snatch one out of someone’s pocket. He pokes his snout between couch and chair cushions to see if anything good might be there, but does not get up on furniture. However, he occasionally does some counter surfing if any edible items are left close to the edge. He is excited to meet new people and will jump if not restrained. Mikey is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If interested in making Mikey a member of your family, please complete an online application at www.nbran.org (under the Adopt tab). If you have any questions after you complete your application, please email wanbran@comcast.net. Mikey’s adoption fee is $200 ($100 for a senior-to-senior adoption). He can be transported up to 1400 miles but preference will be given to adopters in the West. Once the application has been completed if deemed a good fit, your state coordinator will contact you. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.

Posted Breed: Brittany (short coat). California meet the newest baseball Brittany, Cersei. She has a birth defect that makes her look like she has a wad of chew in her cheek at home base. It’s really pretty cute. NBRAN took her to the vet who thoroughly checked it out and the lump is a birth defect that is not expected to cause her any problems. Cersei is a typical two-year old Brittany with an extremely high energy level and prey drive. Cersei loves playing with her foster brothers so will need another dog to play and exercise with. She is also good with respectful older children. Because of Cersei's high prey drive we suspect cats are not on her friend list and we will not adopt her to a home with cats. Cersei loves to sleep in bed with her humans and cuddle on the couch in the evening while watching tv. Cersei is a typical young Brittany that will get into trouble when not watched. She likes to counter and table surf. She will need a secure 6 ft privacy fenced yard. No apartments or condos. Her forever family will need to continue her training and exercise. Cersei is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $375.00. NBRAN will transport up to 1200 miles to an appropriate home. If interested in making Cersei a member of your family, please complete an online application at www.nbran.org (under the Adopt tab). You will be contacted after your application has been reviewed.

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Rachel is a sweet loving little 6.5 mo old girl with special needs. She has a gait sort of like a walking horse and is clumsy. Sometimes her little head shakes. My vet says she is visually impaired; however , she does not bump into things, finds her toys and can follow your finger. She can get up the two short steps into the house but would not be able to climb stairs or steep steps. She loves playing with other dogs, loves her toys and has a great appetite. She is UTD on vaccines, HW neg and on prevenative. She will be spayed on Jan 8 Rachel needs a home without small children. She will get under your feet and can trip them and she would not tolerate a small child pulling on her. She needs a yard where she can run and requires a fence. Rachel will be available for adoption Jan 18. For more information, contact settertown@aol.com

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Are you looking to make a difference for a rescue dog? Tonto is a 5 year old male who was used as a stud dog and lived in a kennel for his entire life. That is until NBRAN stepped in. He needs someone who is patient and has a soft voice. He does get along with other dogs, but prefer female dogs. He is shy around male humans, but will warm up to them. Tonto loves to sleep in bed with you. When the humans leave the house he will stay quietly in his crate. So Tonto is looking for that special home. He’ll need a physical fence, and hopefully someone who has the time to help him learn how great it is to be a loved and pampered house dog. He is currently in foster care in Michigan. His adoption fee is $350.00. He can be transported up to 1000 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles of his journey. NBRAN does require a home visit and vet check. If you are interested in Tonto please go to nbran.org and complete an online application. The coordinator in your state will contact you. Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). ***** PETER THE GREAT**** Peter has an adorable freckle face and the classic orange dot on the top of his head. What's not to love! Sadly, Peter's daddy passed away in July. It took some time to re-adjust to foster life, but let me tell you, this boy is so much fun to be around now! His positive attitude spreads and always puts a smile on your face. Peter loves to run around outside and play with a ball. He loves to explore in the yard and sunbathe on the patio. When he is inside, he sometimes gets the zoomies, but eventually lies down to rest. At 12 years old, and healthy, you would never know he is a senior. He loves to go on walks and he is working on not pulling. He is great company to have around. Peter used to be over weight and has been on weight management food, which will extend his life and allow him to be more active. Peter is currently 55 pounds, so he will need to drop another 5-7 to hit his fitness goal. This active senior will require a yard with a secure fence. He has lots of energy and is devoted to ridding your back yard of squirrels and rabbits. Peter loves to play fetch and is looking for a forever home that will play Chuck It. Peter has a sensitive side as well. He loves to snuggle and is very eager to please. He is a good listener in the house and just wants to be loved. He is gentle with children (10 & older), likes other dogs and we believe is accepting of dog-savvy cats. Peter is healthy (passed a senior blood panel), a little hard of hearing, UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, (on preventative), neutered, and micro chipped. His adoption fee will be $200 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Peter a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.NBRAN.org. Peter The Great is eligible for our wonderful Senior-to-Senior program. If you are a senior, age 60 or over, his adoption fee is $100. Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.

    PA/Cooper

    rescue
    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hi Everyone, meet Cooper NBRAN's latest senior boy READY to find his FOREVER HOME! Cooper is a Orange & White neutered male, estimated to be about 10 years old. Cooper came to NBRAN as a stray from a shelter in Illinois, so unfortunately we have no previous history on his life before he came to us. Cooper came to NBRAN un-neutered, Lyme & Heartworm positive but now after great foster care here in Central PA he is well on the road to recovery. Cooper is now updated on all vetting including having completed treatment for both heartworm and Lyme's. Cooper is a tall Brittany and weighs in at about 40#. He has lots of energy for a senior guy so he would love a back yard with a tall physical fence and a friend to play with too. His prey drive seems high so we recommend NO cats unless they are willing to teach him a lesson or two. He’d also need a lessons on chickens, too. He can be pretty bouncy and very strong, so older children would probably be better. Since he was a stray and is still in need of some training breed savvy parents would probably be a good idea. Cooper is crate trained having spend a great deal of time in his crate for his heartworm treatment these last 2 months in addition to exercise restrictions. He is house trained. He has a little potty dance that his foster parents look for. If he’s out of his crate, he’ll go to the door and dance. He can climb up and down uncarpeted stairs with no trouble. He rarely barks. He also eats in his crate alongside the 3 other resident Brittanys and has shown no food aggression as they nose around inches from him. Nor does he worry when another dogs uses “his” toys. Cooper loves balls and other toys. He loves to dig in the toy box for his favorite of the moment. He’ll pull out a toy, throw it on the ground, flop on his back, and roll on the toy. He is a strong chewer; Kongs and marrow bones are his favorite. His foster Mom says he should have been named, George, as in Curious George, as his nose never seems to stop working. He wants to sniff every corner, bag, box, bush, and tree. On walks, his nose is on the ground catching all possible smells. He wants to see what’s on the kitchen counter; so its best not to leave out temptations. Cooper can be a little shy around new people and things and hides behind his Foster Mom, but he warms up nicely. Cooper's foster Mom also says his vocabulary is growing. He can “sit”, “wait” at the door, although we are still careful with all open outside doors and he waits in a sit/down while I walk around the room. He knows “this way” which guides him in the right direction on a walk. He can wrap himself and me in his leash faster than you can say “let’s go”. He might have some shepherd genes in him because he tries to herd me to his direction. He can walk very nicely on a leash, but only headed toward home. His outbound leash needs more work or the half-hitch around his belly. He understands “no” and “drop it”. They are even beginning to play around with early agility in the basement. Way to Go Cooper! Ready to Take Cooper into your Home? If so, please consider filling out an application online at: http://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application Once you application is received the coordinator in the State in which you live will be in touch to follow-up regarding your interest in Cooper. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here http://nbran.org/about/state-provincial-coordinators Cooper's adoption fee is 200.00, which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brit like Cooper back to good health and readying them for adoption. However, being a senior boy Cooper also is apart of the senior to Senior adoption program, so ask your State coordinator for details., Don't live in PA or close by, No Problem! NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team who will help bring Cooper to his new family, up to 1200 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions? Contact Chris Eddinger at ceddinger@verizon.net Thank you!
