Posted Breed: Pug / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $375.00. Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. Lovely familydog waiting for you Samantha is a happy, super adjusted, "Lets have fun", type of dog. She LOVES kids and will join in their games, creek walks, adventures. She would love a human being to call her own. Tall or small, she will be a four footed best friend to anyone willing to share their heart. She has good dog manners and does not have any issues that we have seen and has been great with any sized dog. She gravitates to people and would be such a comfort for anyone loney for a dog. We believe she is a Pug, Doxie and maybe a bit of terrier mixture. She is active but not hyper. She enjoys quiet times and is a good snuggler. This is a dog that should be seen if you are considering bring a good dog into your home. Adoption is $375.00 which includes her spay, shots, rabies, bordetella, de worming treatment, heartworm test and a chip. If interested in this little heart throb, please fill out an on line application for Samantha at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then e-mail us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com for a meet and greet. She is a wonderful dog. Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

    Mia

    rescue
    Breed: Daug
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dachshund / Pug / Mixed (short coat). We will be doing adoptions on Saturday, January 20th and Sunday, January 21st from 12-4pm at Palo Alto Pet Food Express. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-4pm on Sat. Jan. 20th & Sun. Jan. 21st or until adopted. If interested, please fill out an application if you would like the first opportunity to meet prior to the start of the event. (We will pre-approve one home to meet per dog.) Mia is a 1 1/2 year old Dachshund mix. She weighs 12.8lbs. She was an owner surrender at the shelter. They said they didn't have time for her. Well, we have time for her. Mia is a quieter, shy dog who likes a calmer type of environment. She doesn't do well in the frenetic activity of a busy household with kids and everyone. Rather she is a dog who likes it quiet, mellow, sit on your lap and just hang out. She's a lover girl with her people. You have to earn her love. Give her time to adjust and acclimate. Give her some space. You'll be amazed how quickly she is begging for your love and affection. Mia is definitely a lap dog when she knows you. Mia is not a nuisance barker. She could live in an apartment or condo setting. She could hang out in a quiet office. She is crate trained. She walks well on a leash and she enjoys going on walks but won't require extensive exercise. She has lived with dogs and does well with them. She has lived with big and little ones. She has lived with a cat and does well with them. Mia thrives on boundaries and rules. She is a dog who needs an owner who believes in being a leader within the household. Mia will rule the home if she does not have an experienced home that reinforces structure and boundaries. If you're an experienced home who believes in being the leader rather than giving treats hoping the dog will behave, she's a good option. She'll give back 10 fold what she is given and she'll thrive. Mia is only an option for someone who has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids they need to be teenagers or very quiet kids. No small children. **Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend) **If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pug / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Bella, A Pug-Dachshund Bella is a sweet, small Pug and Dachshund mix girl of 2 years, who recently joined the rescue after being rescued by concerned citizens. Bella is 12 lbs of loving cuddles and kisses. Bella loves people and dogs but also likes a little private time like a cat (pug personality). She is adventurous and likes to explore. Bella does well with most small dogs, especially playful males Taking a ride in the car is a favorite pastime for Bella and she enjoys looking out the window at all the scenery. She is a happy go lucky, fun loving, playful girl who will entertain you with her antics. When she has a playful buddy, she will run and run for hours in the yard or house playing and chasing her best friend. Bella is on a human-grade dehydrated diet and is thriving on it. We will share her feeding and care with the adopter. Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Bella will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise, training, and affection she deserves. Adoption Fees Adoption fee is 495.00 this covers transport from California, adoption and medical such as certain vaccines, worming and parasite, and flea/tick control, health certificate and wellness exam, spay/neuter, etc... Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescued animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG ADOPTION: 1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences. 3) Secure visible fencing required. 4) You must have a plan in place to socialize your dog properly. 5) Please do NOT write us and ask if this dog is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the dog may not be available. 8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a dog is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy. Health: Bella has been spayed. S he is microchipped, current on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. He has been wormed and flea treated, tested negative for heartworm and Parvo History: Bella was going dumped in an overcrowded shelter in California. Rompin Paws Rescue was asked to help to rescue her to keep her out of the shelter and we are so glad we did. All dogs RPR pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington State Law. Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for Bella please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application. We bring dogs from up from California. so there are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and sometimes boarded if we can't place them in a foster, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington, Also, we don't receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs.

Posted Breed: Pug / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org Mike is a 2 year old Pug/dachshund mix. Mike is adorable!! Mike came from a home with too many dogs. Sadly Mike was born at this home and lived outside, so he lacked proper socialization. Mike is very shy, but wants so badly to be friends. He is very inquisitive and is slowly learning to be a part of a family. Mike is great with dogs and cats, and would be ok with older kids. Mike loves squeaky toys and gets so excited when he hears them squeak. Mike is looking for a family that is patient and willing to give him time to learn to trust. Mike loves other dogs and would best in a home with a playful and confident doggie sibling. Mike is learning the doggie door and enjoys to hang out on the couch next to his person. Mike has really blossomed day in his foster home and loves attention. He enjoys a good cuddle on the couch. Mike is ready to find his forever family and share his love ve. Mike's adoption fee:$250 We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found. Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day. Please visit our website at www.dachshundpaws.org
