Posted Breed: Dachshund / Pug / Mixed (short coat). Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th from 12pm-4pm. See individual dogs to see who will be attending as not all dogs will be attending the event. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue Mia is a 1 1/2 year old Dachshund mix. She weighs 12.8lbs. She was an owner surrender at the shelter. They said they didn't have time for her. Well, we have time for her. Mia is a quieter, shy dog who likes a calmer type of environment. She doesn't do well in the frenetic activity of a busy household with kids and everyone. Rather she is a dog who likes it quiet, mellow, sit on your lap and just hang out. She's a lover girl with her people. You have to earn her love. Give her time to adjust and acclimate. Give her some space. You'll be amazed how quickly she is begging for your love and affection. Mia is definitely a lap dog when she knows you. Mia is not a nuisance barker. She could live in an apartment or condo setting. She could hang out in a quiet office. She is crate trained. She walks well on a leash and she enjoys going on walks but won't require extensive exercise. She has lived with dogs and does well with them. She has lived with big and little ones. She has lived with a cat and does well with them. Mia is only an option for someone who has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids they need to be teenagers or very quiet kids. No small children. **Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend) **If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

Posted Breed: Pug / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below. Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue. Pet Information CONTACT: UHA ADOPTION COORDINATOR VIRI AT 626-318-2038 OR AT vfloera@gmail.com Description: ~~A5098301 Swannie is a cute 3-year-old caramel-and-white female Pug and Dachshund mix who came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray from Baldwin Park on August 7th. Weighing 20 lbs, this bright-eyed girl is a little overweight. She will need a good diet and exercise so she can be the slim, healthy beauty she was meant to be. Swannie loves people and will make someone a great walking companion--walks are so much better with a friend! She appears to enjoy the company of people, but is more selective with dogs. We recommend her for a household as an only pet. Swannie has beautiful markings and a loving personality; she is just waiting for her forever, loving home. SWANNIE’S VIDEO: https://youtu.be/BvDdjNVgl4k For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA adoption coordinator Viri at 626-318-2038 or vfloera@gmail.com.

Policies purchased from the banner at the top of the page also help our shelter. All adoptees are neutered and current on their vaccinations. No other health guarantee is given or implied. We do not always know the background of the pet you are adopting. If the dog is already housebroken or crate trained, consider yourself lucky. If not, it is your responsibility to train this dog yourself. These animals are living pets, and much like children they need attention, love, and discipline. If you are not willing to do this, please do not adopt a living pet. A stuffed animal for your bed or a ceramic animal for your shelf is more appropriate. Here are some ideas to get you started... A Washer and Dryer for Blankies We desperately need a washing machine and gas-powered clothes dryer. With the cold weather and winter rains our old machines are not going to last the season. If you're upgrading to a washer or new clothes dryer - don't have the old one hauled away, we'll take it and put it to good use! Can you spare a dime, or more? A financial donation of any kind helps many dogs in many ways. Skip your morning latte for week, donate your spare change — every little bit helps. Presents for Pooches If you prefer to donate items, we have a list and we've checked it twice...things our rescue doggies need, none naughty, all nice. The best part is that all of your donations are tax-deductible, so it helps you too! See what we need... Mops, and Buckets, and Soap, Oh My! We always we need cleaning supplies, and lots of bleach. Mop heads, brooms, etc. Have a favorite cleaner? Give us a bottle so we can test it out. Someone to Install a Shining Light Help us bring light to our kennels. You read correctly: we do not have electricity (or light) in 2/3 of our kennels. Are you an electrician who loves dogs or do you know of one? Read more... ...and Be Our Sanitation Salvation Embarassing, but true: we need a toilet. We have a location, but we don't have a potty or someone who can install it. A bit of drywall would be awfully nice, too. If plumbing is your biz, we need to talk. Please call (909) 795-4867 right away. Our back teeth are floating! Shop for Yourself - and Help Us. Need a new collar, sweater, or just looking for something fun? All of your purchases help us! Go Shopping... Blankets & Towels Needed... We always have a need for towels and blankets to be used as dog bedding. To donate or make arrangements, please call (909) 795.4867 and ask for Mary. Cookies Please!!

Posted Breed: Pug / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat). Hi! It’s Me! Raya! I am a pretty laid back girl. I am looking for a new home but I need a special home that will understand my little attitude. I have done well in my foster home. Even though I am very cute I am not cuddly. I am best if you let me come to you for pets etc. I am more like a cat then a dog. I like it a certain way and if we come to an agreement things can be wonderful for both of us. I am about 6 years old, a Pug mix, with a bit of an attitude. I need a home that is going to understand my attitude and make sure you are ready for my challenges. I'm healthy, have all of my shots, microchipped and spayed I love to be with some people and dogs and would really like to find a family of my very own. Will that be you? Please go towww.allmuttsmatter.org and fill out an adoption application which is located under the 'Adoption Info' tab on the left. Hope to hear from you soon. Hugz, Raya. Our adoption process is below: 1. The application will be processed, evaluated and we will contact the vet and personal references; 2. All other applications that have been submitted on Raya will also be processed (best suited applicant is chosen, not first come first serve); 3. Schedule a home visit; and 4. Adoption finalized when the best-fitting home is found. Our adoption fee for Raya is $260.00.

    Breed: Daug
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young

Posted Breed: Pug / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Chloe is an adorable little pug / chiweenie mix who loves other dogs and gentle children! She’s only three, years old, is very sweet, loves walks, other dogs, and sleeping in the bed to be near her people! Not sure how she’ll react to cats, since she’s not really met any yet! Loves to play outside. (And has the cutest little cross-bite.) If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Chloe is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
