    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Mountain Cur / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 195.00. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Puppacino is an amazingly sweet momma from our Maternity Ward. She raised her last litter of puppies, we found them all fantastic new families, now it's Puppa's turn for her happily ever after. Everyone who meets Puppa falls in love with her sweet, gentle ways. She's got a smile on her face for everyone, and loves to lay in your lap getting loved on. Laying in your lap is pretty much Puppa's favorite thing ever, so please have a lap if you are interested in adopting her. Puppa has all of the best qualities of a perfect house dog, she's housebroken, crate trained and quiet, she's quiet, gentle and silly, she's pretty much perfect for any family and would make an excellent first dog for someone. Puppacino gets along great with other dogs, she's gentle with kids large and small, and she's on the fence as far as whether she likes kitty or not. We think with appropriate guidance, she'd realize that kitty is not the same as squirrel, chase not the cat. Are you looking for a gentle, easy, go-with-the-flow kinda gal to fit right into your life? Puppacino may just be the pup for you! Email sotb.adoptions@gmail.com to find out how you can adopted Puppa. Our adoption fee is $225. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care.

    Breed: Dachshund
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Adoption Fee: 275.00. Hi! I’m Ziggy and I’m looking for my forever home. I am one of the most handsome black and tan boys you will ever meet. My foster mom calls me Zigman. She likes to chase me around the house and yard playing tag with me and I absolutely love it. I am a youngster still; I just turned 3 years old. My absolute favorite toy is my Giggle ball. I get along well with other dogs. I like to take walks with my foster brothers and I snuggle under the covers with them. I love food, but get itchy if not on a grain free diet. I love all veggies and fruit especially watermelon. My favorite place to sleep is the big bed but I love fluffy blankets so I’ll sleep in my crate sometimes if you need me to, or on a comfy dog bed. My obsession is throw pillows, I love to throw them around. Note: Ziggy must be adopted within 75 miles of Salisbury, MD so folks interested in opening their home to him can come and meet him. Ziggy is what rescuers call a reactive dog. He barks, lunges, and becomes very vocal when pushed beyond what he can comfortably handle. When he reacts this way, he is saying, “Give me space!” We can’t change Ziggy’s past, but we can do everything in our power to ensure his tomorrows are bright and filled with fun. Ziggy is not a bad or dangerous dog; he just needs an adopter willing to train and resocialize him. Additional information please contact my foster mom Melody (melodyb@comcast.net) http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724 Adoption Fee: $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).

    Breed: Chiweenie

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dachshund / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 275.00. Hi. My name is Oscar Mayer. I am a 4-year-old chiweenie. I weigh about 11 pounds. My previous owner had to surrender me when she became too ill to care for me. Fortunately, I have found a wonder foster family who is taking good care of me until I find my furever home. As you can see from my pictures, I am very cute. I am also a very happy dog. My foster family tells me that my nick name should be “Cuddles” because that’s what I love to do. I love to be held and petted. In return, I like to lavish my humans with lots of kisses. Once I am attached to my human, I follow them everywhere. I love to sit on laps or on the back of a chair or couch if that happens to be where you are sitting. Because I am a chiweenie, I can jump very high. This means that I can jump on furniture and chairs. I LOVE to go outside. When my foster mom grabs my leash, I immediately start barking and yelping and jumping all over her because I am so excited to go out. I also love to sleep in the big bed at night, under the covers. I am housetrained although I have had a few accidents. I do not like to be crated. I will whine and cry the entire time I am in it. I currently live with a foster fur brother. While I am ok with him, I have shown a tendency to ‘resource guard’. I don’t like to have my foster fur brother try and get up on the couch when I am sitting with my foster mom. I have let him know that I do not like to share. I also tend to be prey driven. My foster family has a bird that I have shown a great deal of interest in. For these reasons, they think it would be best if I were in a home without other dogs, cats and/or small critters. I can be very vocal. If someone comes to the door or walks in the house, I will immediately alert the entire house. If I am sitting at the front door and looking outside, I will bark and bark if I see another dog, cat, leaf, person. But most of the time, I am happy just being with my human. I am learning to walk on a leash. My foster mom says I am doing well with that. I will need some additional training to learn things like sit, stay, come. But I am very treat motivated. So, I think, with some patience and lots of love, I can be the perfect dog for the right family. For additional information please contact my foster mom Anita (agchomemaker@yahoo.com) http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724 Adoption Fee: $275.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Breed: Dachshund
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Adoption Fee: 275.00. Meet one of the most handsome smooth-coat back and tan doxies – me, Tally. I love to run and play in the yard (in the kitchen, down the hallway, in the bedroom, etc.). While I’m currently walked on a leash, I would love to have a fenced yard of my own where I can run free, sniffing every square inch. I’m very agreeable and respectful of other small dogs but not always agreeable around larger dogs. I’m good with adults, warming up quickly to new people – but only after giving them a few barks, a good sniffing and a slow introduction. My foster mom says I’m affectionate and love to be held. If you massage my ears, I’ll close my eyes, lean into your hand and simply enjoy the moment. Life just doesn’t get any better. I’m proud to say that I’m house trained and crate trained. At night, I sleep in my cozy crate in my foster mom’s bedroom. I patiently wait for her to get up each morning to walk and feed me (emphasis on feeding). I’m gentle when taking treats and wait my turn (did I mention that I’m living with four other dachshunds.) I just love to eat. As a result, I’m just a little plump for my size so, to keep me spine-healthy, I’m working on losing a few pound. I have a long doxie body with very short legs so no steps or stairs for me. My foster mom thinks I would do best with someone who is at home most of the day, where there are no children and with someone is dachshund-savvy. Are you longing for a sweet little doxie companion like me? Talk to my foster mom, Sabine, (sabinewilson@msn.com) and she can tell you more about me. Note: Tally must be adopted within 100 miles of Chester, MD so folks interested in opening their home to Tally can come and meet him.

Posted Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Adoption Fee: 150. For more information contact my foster mom, Sarah, at saraht31289@gmail.com Hey there! Nice to see you! Let me introduce myself. Let's start with my name, Crinkles. It was given to be because I was born with a bent, aka "crinkled," tail. Other than the cosmetics though, it doesn't bother me one bit. I am about 9 years old but am not sure of my exact birth date. I was living with a nice, older lady for all of my life, but recently she just couldn't take care of me anymore so that's how I ended up being a part of Little Paws Rescue. I have been in my foster home for almost one month now and I love it. I fit right in as soon as I got here. There are two other dachshunds, a chiweenie, a chihuahua/minipin, and a much bigger pit bull mix, and we all get along just fine. There is also a cat who pretty much leaves us dogs alone, and I usually leave him alone, too. Along with all of those animals there are human children here, too, and I love them and they love me! One of the humans is just over 1 year old so he is always down on the floor with us dogs. He likes to play and pet me and I let him as long as he is gentle, which his mommy and daddy make sure he is. At night my foster parents let me sleep in the big bed with them and the other small doggies. I do have one confession to make, though. My former mommy let me eat as much as I wanted and because she was older, we didn't get much exercise, so I am what is called "obese." Because of this, and because I am a dachshund prone to back issues anyway, I cannot get up onto the big bed or couch by myself, though I LOVE to sit on my human's lap and to cuddle at bed time. We are working on my weight loss by feeding me just two evenly measured meals of dry dog food a day, and just one or two dog treats a day. I will need a furever family that is willing to continue working with me on this. I also really love to drink water, but as long as you let me out often I will only do my potty business outside. I am leash trained, but also like roaming around a fenced yard. Because of my weight and potential back issues, it is probably best if I am not in a house or apartment where I have to use a lot of stairs. So far I have been friendly with everyone I have met, young and old, human and animal, male or female. I also have been a good patient at the vet. The manager even said I may be the cutest dachshund she has ever seen! Would you please consider making me a part of your furever family? I may be a senior, but I still have lots of life to live and love to give! He weighs 13 lbs and is approximately 5 years old. He gets along well with other doxies but is afraid of larger dogs. Rides well in the car and is great on a leash. When he arrived he was very skittish and everything frightened him. Now he is much more relaxed and happy. Jake loves to play with Squeaky toys and wrestling with one of his foster buddies. He is a Velcro dog and loves to be with his people. He prefers women but will warm up to a man given some space and love. He loves to roam the yard and keep the squirrels from taking over the bird feeders. He would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time.
