    Rocky B.

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Doxie-Pin
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Dachshund / Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat). Hilarious 1.4 year old Terrier male! Awesome buddy for another active dog, active family with older kids, a runner, hiker, camper, if you want to do it, he'll be ready to rock "n" roll! Rocky is about 12lbs, typical terrier personality, feisty, funny and full of fun. Aloof with people he doesn't know, adores the people he does, Crated at night, walks on a leash, best suited with someone(s) that understand and embrace the "terrier" personality. Would not recommend Rocky B. as a first time dog. Rocky does have some barrier aggression when in a crate and when he feels threatened.. Adoption donation $200, includes his neuter, rabies, dhpp vaccine, bordatella vaccine, microchip, worming, frontline, heartworm test and heartgard. Appointments are available most days, dogs are held for SAME-DAY appointments only. Dogs are fostered in Vacaville, we do not transport or deliver dogs. All potential adopters must travel to vacaville to meet and potentially adopt dog. Please email fieldofdreamsrescue1@gmail.com to make your appointment or if you have any questions. :) *Please be ready to adopt when making a appt., we do not hold dogs while you get ready/go on vacation etc. Dogs remain available until they are adopted. If you aren't ready to potentially take a dog home, please contact us when you are. :) This helps keep our available appointments /time productive. We never say a dog is housebroken, a new routine, environment, food, all lends itself very well to having a accident in the home. Please take any new dog regardless of age and act as if they are not housebroken. Barking/Digging: Any dog can be or become a barker, or digger if the behavior is allowed and not corrected. A dog can act one way in one home and a completely different way in another. Whining: The first few days in a new home, a adopted dog can become VERY upset, anxious and vocal. Every home they go into, there is a adjustment period that will need to be understood. We suggest "test"runs when you leave the dog alone. Make is short segments first and increase the time. This way the dog knows you are always coming back. Giving them something to keep themselves occupied with while you are away will help. BITING: Please do not EVER put your face in a newly adopted dogs face or take food/toys our of their mouth. This is the surest and fastest way to get bit. Especially children. Adopting a dog takes time, patience and a commitment from his/hers new family, please be prepared for ALL the ups and downs when bringing home a wonderful dog in need.

    Gotcha

    rescue
    Breed: Doxie-Pin
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Alice (alicesavesdogs@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Welcome Gotcha. He is a Min Pin/ Dachshund mix. He is cuddly and snuggles into your neck when you pick him up. He is going to best with a harness and for a while you will need to make sure he never gets off leash. He is a loyal boy but there are sounds and things in the environment that are loud and sudden and they scare him. His reaction is to run. He may work out of this but I think he learned this or used this mechanism to survive on the streets as a stray. He was a hard one to catch for the Animal Control Officers. It took them 2 days and when they did they said his name….thus he became Gotcha. He has the look of a Min Pin but the shorter legs so may be mixed with a Dachshund. He is ADORABLE and will make a family with a quieter home a great companion. He would love to snuggle up on someone’s lap or be held. He is small enough to travel with you in a dog purse. He will need a fenced yard and older children would be best. He is up on shots, neutered and ready for his forever home. Adoption fee is 170 and transport is 185. Contact me for an application.

    Scarlett

    rescue
    Breed: Doxie-Pin
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. Scarlett is a cutie pie and we just love her. Her big brown eyes just looks into your soul. She will give you 100 percent. She is a lovely little dog who will make you her special person. She has been fabulous with the kids here, playful with other dogs, and we just think she would make a great personal companion dog or family dog. She is crate trained, good in the car and enjoys going bye-bye. She snuggles and will keep the kitchen floor spotless from scrapes and crumbs. Adoption is $375.00 and includes her spay, shots, rabies, chip, bordetella, worming treatment, flea meds for the month applied by the vet, and she comes with a two week trial. If you would like to meet Scarlet, please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us for a meet and greet appointment which will be held in Elk Grove on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday this week. e-mail us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com. Paws crossed that Scarlett is the one you have been looking for! Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

Found as a stray, we sadly have no history on him. Rocko has been a sweet little guy once he knows and trust his people. He wants someone to love, could be excellent as a companion for a active senior or couple that is looking for a love bug. Rocko doesn't like being picked up, so best in a home with no kids. Great in the car, on walks, hangs out in the house, gives you "moo moo" eyes for treats. Rocko in general gets along with other dogs, but prefers to be a only child. He isn't too keen on sharing food with other dogs. So far no issues with cats.
