    Breed: German Shepherd Dog

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / German Shepherd Dog. Hi I am Tali!! I am a 2 year old, 55lb German Shepherd and sweet as sugar. Foster mama says that I am what she calls a "shadow dog". I asked her what it meant, and she said it means I am always just a few steps behind my person, which is true! I am really shy when meeting new people though. It takes me time to warm up to a new face. But once I do I bond very strongly to my person and want to be with them and protect them. Before I was rescued, I lived my life as an outdoor dog so foster mama has had her work cut ot for her when it came to getting me house trained and crate trained. I am pleased to say we are doing better but I am not quite at 100% yet. Sometimes if I get nervous I will submissive pee. An example of this would be when I go to have a leash put on if I get cornered. I also had a nasty case of mange on me feet when foster mama got me but I am all better now and preventing it from coming back is as simple as a special medicine that is also a flea/tick prevention every 3 months! So it is not like taking good care of me would cost anything additional! I like the kitties in my foster home, we all get along great. I can be a little bit bouncy when I first meet a new dog so it is taking some time since it can intimidate some dogs. While I currently live with small children and am fine with them, foster mama says it would probably be best if I was in a home without small children. She said something about needing to be "dog savvy" and that usually small kids are not. I can be a bit vocal when crated so I would probably do best in a home and not in an apartment setting. It is not that I am loud and much as I am shrill when I bark. You would think I would have I nice deep German Shepherd bark, but no, foster mama says I sound like a small dog when I get going! I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard so that I can work out some of my energy and be able to avoid the leash for potty trips. If you think that I may be the girl you are looking for, please apply. My adoption fee is $225 which is a great deal since I am already spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative and on prevention, and on flea/tick prevention. If you have any additional questions about me please email my foster mama at fchsjess@gmail.com. You can also fill out an application to get the adoption process started. Adoption Application

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. Meet Nyx, a 3 year old black German Shepherd who weighs in at 100lbs! Please read very carefully before applying for adoption. Nyx Requires: *Six foot tall privacy fence *An adopter with previous German Shepherd and large breed experience *An adopter who will commit and enroll in positive reinforcement training classes upon adoption Hi there, I am Nyx and boy do I have a story to tell you! I've had a very unstable life in my three years so I am looking for that special place to call my own. I was surrendered to the shelter by my first family. I spent some time there before being rescued. After 2 weeks in my foster home I started to herd the resident kids as any untrained German Shepherd is inclined to do and the foster felt like it was not going to be a great fit for me so I moved to another home. I was only there a short time before I was adopted to what I thought was my special forever, but I did thrive in my second foster home. Sadly, my adoption did not work out for me as I learned to throw my weight around to get my way. I quickly learned that my mouthy puppy behavior could make people do what I wanted. I also developed an aversion to the word "no" that made me balk. Eventually I was returned to my rescue because the family wasn't sure they could handle me anymore, remember I am a BIG boy. Even my former foster mom was worried about me because of how I was behaving, but she and her friends were determined to help me get back to the good boy we all knew I could be. So she sent me to the Hot Dog Man in Ohio (mama said his real name is Steffen Baldwin, you should check him out!) with hopes that he could get me back on the right track. And after 6 weeks away with the Hot Dog Man, and now 4 weeks back in my foster home, I am pleased to tell you my real story has begun! Now I am on the hunt for that special forever that can make sure I stay the good boy I am. That is why foster mama is posting the requirements that she has. I need a home who knows my breed, who knows the behaviors that come with being a German Shepherd. I need a mom/dad who is confident in handling a boy my size and continuing to socialize me with people of all types. I need a forever home that will commit to training me FOR LIFE. I am too smart to sit around and be bored. Even the Hot Dog Man said my intelligence is what gets me into trouble. Because of this, foster mama requires enrollment in positive-reinforcement training classes for an approved adopter before they can bring me home forever. I need a fenced in yard. The reason for this is I do have a lot of energy that needs worked out. I need to be able to run and use my nose for more than just a walk. I did great playing with the other dogs while at training, but prefer to play one-on-one instead of a group. I do take correction well from other dogs too. I live with cats in my foster home, but may be best in a home without cats only because when I go to sniff them I accidentally push them around. I also live with small children and I do love them. Sometimes I forget how big I am though and they may take a tumble in my presence so maybe a home with two-leggers who are more stable on their feet? If you can be that home for me, here's what you get in return: *A big doofus of a boy who wants to love and please you *A super intelligent companion. Wait! Did I already mention that?! Well I know "watch", "sit", "come", "wait", "down", "paw" (though I am a bit rough with that so mama doesn't use it often). *A great Netflix-and-chill partner *A loyal companion and protector for life Foster mama said she would wait as long as it takes to find that perfect home since I deserve nothing less that perfect after how my first 3 years of life went. She told me I deserve nothing shy of the best going into my 4th year. If you have questions about me please email my foster mom at fchsjess@gmail.com and she will tell you more about me. I am already neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention, dewormed, and on flea/tick prevention. My adoption fee is $225. You can fill out an application to get the adoption process started. Adoption Application
