    Addison

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: San Diego, CA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsd@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Addison made the long trek down to San Diego, quiet as a mouse, cute as a button, sweet as sugar. She’s quite the character, and it took only one day to let some of that character show. Cute as a button? Absolutely. Sweet as sugar? Depends on who you ask. Quiet as a mouse? Okay, she’s quite the character. A little over three months old, Addie was diagnosed with a medical condition, Mega Esophagus. As soon as she was diagnosed, her family wanted nothing more to do with her. Lucky for her, the vet recognized a little girl with a strong will to survive and knew that she deserved a chance at life and kept her safe while the shelter begged for any rescue that was willing to take her. Addie is having the time of her life playing with her foster sisters and brothers. Despite her medical condition, she is her own little force to be reckoned with. She can keep up with the big boys and girls. She is looking for her forever family, one who will give her the leadership, training and guidance that she needs, one who has the time to devote to a special needs puppy and dog. She is learning to use her foster brother’s Bailey chair. She eats her meal with no problem, but does need a little coaxing to stay in her chair for 20 minutes after her meal to let everything go down. It’s only been one day, though. Give her a week, and she’ll be an expert. There are many amazing German Shepherds with mega esophagus who live full amazing lives. Addison’s foster sister is almost 10 years old and her foster brother is two and a half, both with mega esophagus. Addison just needs a family who will be there for her through the good times and the not so good times. There is never a guarantee that any medical issue will be easy. Addison is waiting for her special family to come along, one who is just as strong willed as she is, a family that doesn’t give up as soon as there is a bump in the road, and one who enjoys life as much as she does. Oh, and another one of those 70 pound big brothers to chase around. Yes, Addie can hold her own with the big boys. Ever seen the elephant afraid of the mouse? Addie likes playing the mouse and watching her brothers run. Please visit www.coastalgsrsd.org/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsd@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Larsen is a very sweet boy, around 18 months. He’s good with other dogs, lived with a 6 month old lab and an older toy sized dog. He will chases cats, but we don’t know what he’d do if he caught it, so probably would do better in a home without them. He did live with children over 10. He has a bit of separation anxiety which was the reason he was turned in to us. Larsen needs a home where he will have an experienced family that will be able to work with him slowly to resolve the separation anxiety. Age: Baby
    Location: San Diego, CA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Ava is new to the rescue. She is 9 months old, and the family realized they can’t give her what she needs. She is behind on her socialization and needs a home with another confident dog that she can follow. Ava was the last one in the litter to be sold because she was the shy one. The family didn’t realize the work it takes to socialize an already shy puppy. They wanted to get help for her before it was too late. Needs a GSD experienced home. When she finally realizes the world isn’t a big scary place, she’s also going to realize how smart she is. Very smart. She is a bit on the needy side right now. Wants to cling to whoever is her newest best friend. She will definitely benefit from the group walks with the volunteers at SMK. She knows sit, down and high five.
