    Kasey

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Kasey had a very difficult life before joining the rescue — she was neglected and kept on a crate most of the time. She seems to be a sweet girl, but her past haunts her so she has a bit of separation anxiety. She’ll do best in a home where she can receive a lot of care and patience and can build her confidence. Please visit www.coastalgsrsd.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us at information@coastalgsrsd.org or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next! Addison

    rescue
    Breed: German Shepherd Dog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsd@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Addison made the long trek down to San Diego, quiet as a mouse, cute as a button, sweet as sugar. She’s quite the character, and it took only one day to let some of that character show. Cute as a button? Absolutely. Sweet as sugar? Depends on who you ask. Quiet as a mouse? Okay, she’s quite the character. A little over three months old, Addie was diagnosed with a medical condition, Mega Esophagus. As soon as she was diagnosed, her family wanted nothing more to do with her. Lucky for her, the vet recognized a little girl with a strong will to survive and knew that she deserved a chance at life and kept her safe while the shelter begged for any rescue that was willing to take her. Addie is having the time of her life playing with her foster sisters and brothers. Despite her medical condition, she is her own little force to be reckoned with. She can keep up with the big boys and girls. She is looking for her forever family, one who will give her the leadership, training and guidance that she needs, one who has the time to devote to a special needs puppy and dog. She is learning to use her foster brother’s Bailey chair. She eats her meal with no problem, but does need a little coaxing to stay in her chair for 20 minutes after her meal to let everything go down. It’s only been one day, though. Give her a week, and she’ll be an expert. There are many amazing German Shepherds with mega esophagus who live full amazing lives. Addison’s foster sister is almost 10 years old and her foster brother is two and a half, both with mega esophagus. Addison just needs a family who will be there for her through the good times and the not so good times. There is never a guarantee that any medical issue will be easy. Addison is waiting for her special family to come along, one who is just as strong willed as she is, a family that doesn’t give up as soon as there is a bump in the road, and one who enjoys life as much as she does. Oh, and another one of those 70 pound big brothers to chase around. Yes, Addie can hold her own with the big boys. Ever seen the elephant afraid of the mouse? Addie likes playing the mouse and watching her brothers run. Please visit www.coastalgsrsd.org/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsd@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Logan (aka Gunnar) went to his foster home after being abandoned in an empty apartment for who knows how long. Underweight and timid, Gunnar was not very trusting at first but his fosters were determined to show him all people were not as awful as those that had left him behind. After about a week of lots of love, and plenty of food, Gunnar started to put on some weight and his fosters were gifted with their first tail wag…. Now after a few months, this lovely gentleman is learning to walk better on a leash, take treats gently, sit and wait for meals, and come when called. He’s also become a big cuddler, happy to curl up on the couch next you while watching TV and even sometimes sneaking up to lay with you in bed at night. He got along great with their other two dogs and also with their 13 year old son. He’s also been very well behaved when they had their son’s friends and their parents over to visit. Gunnar has been out on walks meeting new people and dogs during their son’s sporting practices and this socialization definitely needs to continue. We would love to see him go to a loving home with someone who works part time or even from home. He has a great, loving personality, a protective nature, and a wonderful goofy smile that we adore.
