Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Italian Greyhound / Mixed (medium coat). Amaro (named after the one & only Detective Amaro.... we're SVU fan!) is a long coat chihuahua mix, 2 years old. He is just too sweet! Well, not too sweet-just sweet enough. He is shy, but once he gets to know you he is a playful boy who loves to chase balls. He's a little guy, about 10-11 lbs. He was very scrawny when he came in and had to be fattened up with extra calories in wet dog food. He remains very slim - we're thinking that's the ITG - long legs and very endearing. Likes his people lap - his BFF is Boboli - likes to wrestle with small males his size though he would be fine as your one and only, if you're giving him lotsa love and attention. Are you my furrever family? For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section where very thorough instructions await. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, micorchipped, and fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records. We gave him time, love, and a place to recover and now he is ready to find HOME. Rocky had a rough beginning but is looking forward not behind. He is great with other dogs here, loves attention, yummy treats (human food leftovers are his favorite) following us. He is learning leash but still in training. Rocky has empathy and understanding for your mood and can give you space when you need it or give you attention. He is such a sweet, tender boy. Rocky could be a special dog for a special child or adult. He would love a quiet home with lots of attention. He can have dog buddies and siblings or be an only child He rarely barks here and is crate trained. He is excellent in the house with a good routine. He may be bashful upon first meet but will quicky bond. He comes with a 30 day post adopton trial. Adoption is $375.00 which includes his neuter, shots, rabies, chip, heart worm test, de worming treatment, applied flea medication. If interested in meeting Rocky, please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us by e-mailing at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com for a meet and greet appointment. Penelope is a gentle sweet girl who came into our rescue scared out of her wits. She and her mom were on the euthaniasia list and she was rescued at that last second. We gave Penelope time to recover, and gain her confidence. She loves to dance, follow us around, prance at our side. She loves my husband (in his 70's) and enjoys laying on the couch by his side. She would love a quiet house, would be fine with other dogs or as a single diva. She ignores the cats here and does not wander when she is let outside (we live on a ranch) She is not a barker, very quiet, well behaved. Crate trained. She might be bashful at first meet, but does come with a 30 day trial. She is such a good girl and such good company, we know you will fall in love if you give her a chance. She will give you her heart completely. Adoption is $275.00 and includes her spay, shots, rabies, heartworm test, de worming treatment, bordetella, flea medication applied for the month and a chip. Hershey's Kiss is such a down to earth, great family or personal companion dog prospect and we can not wait for you to meet her. She is a happy little clown who throws toys up in the air for herself and then pounces. She can be a tender hearted girl especially at first meet which is so much her Greyhound side. But trust us when we tell you, she loves people, loves other dogs, prances, dances and loves walksd and runs. She needs more time on the leash but we are working on that with her. She is gentle with the tots, great with the teens, and a snuggle bunny with you. I had a not so great life when I was in TX but from here on out, it's going to be fantastic! My foster mom and dad tell me that I am a good little girl, I am fairly petite. My coat is white with pretty light tan spots. I have only one good eye and it's blue. My foster mom loves my little nose. She says its a gray/pink. She is so goofy! I am so happy to be just hanging out. I do walk good on a leash and I really like those Himalayan dog chew thingys! I sleep in my crate and do well in there when my foster family is at work. I go potty outside like a big girl, I only had a couple accidents, but that was when I was really new and kinda scared about being in a new place. I am so excited to find a family of my own! Please fill out an application so my foster mom can get a hold of you and we can meet!!! Love, Leela! If you are interested in me, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal. Once we receive your application, a placement coordinator will be in contact with you as soon as possible. Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Italian Greyhound / Mixed (short coat). Say hello to Sandy! Sandy is a 1 year old, 5 pound Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound. Sandy is very loving and loves to snuggle up next to you or on your lap. She likes to follow her person and be next to them most of the time. She is a very sweet little girl! Sandy is potty trained and crate trained; she is very trainable! She gets along fine with dogs, but likes to do her own thing. Sandy would do best with kids 6 and up. Sandy has high energy. She loves to run around her foster home, and jump up and down on furniture. She is a door darter, so she will need someone who will be careful about that. Sandy would probably be best for a family with no other dogs. Her bark is high pitch so an apartment would not be a good fit. A fenced in backyard would be ideal for Sandy, but not required if she is taken on walks. Can you open your heart up to Sandy? *LuvFurMutts Rescue cannot guarantee age, breed(s) or adult size of the dog. We do our best on their bio based on our veterinarian's assessment. Thank you for understanding! Thank you for considering adopting from LuvFurMutts Animal Rescue! If you would like to meet a dog that you are considering adopting, we REQUIRE you to first fill out an adoption application. You can find our online application at www.LuvFurMutts.com PRIOR TO ADOPTION: Unless health or age reasons prevent us from doing so, every LuvFurMutts' Dog has: -Vaccinations up to Date (Including Rabies) -Is on Heartgard -Is on monthly flea protection -Had a Dental if needed -Been Spayed/Neutered -Been Microchipped with 24 Petwatch microchips and free lifetime registration is included -Been tested and is Heartworm Negative *All dogs over 5 receive pre-op blood work. This lets us know if the dogs have liver, heart, kidney, etc. problems* Our adoption donation is $200 and is tax-deductible. *LFM does not charge higher fees for purebred dogs, puppies, or dogs that have had extraordinary medical expenses that far exceed the $200 adoption fee – we depend on donations to help us cover those costs. We do not adopt dogs to adopters that live further than three hours out of our area (also note, on some particular dogs, we do not adopt to adopters that live further than an hour out of our area, such as puppies that may need to come back for vetting and would be noted in the dog's bio.) We define our area as a 3 hour drive time from Cincinnati, OH using zip code 45231 according to Google Maps (not based on how fast you can drive the distance). This rule is for the safety of our dogs – we need to be sure we can get our dogs back quickly in the event an adoption doesn't work out. Want to foster/adopt/transport with us?
