    rescue
    Breed: Jack-Rat Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Rockaway, NJ
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Goofy, an adorable Jack Russell Terrier mix, about 1 1/2 years old, and weighing around 25 pounds. Goofy is a youngster but he acts older as he considers himself to be too mature to play silly games with rowdy dogs or small kids. He'd prefer a home where he could just chill with his human. Goofy gets along with people and other dogs, and even cats. Goofy doesn't mind being held....even like a baby!! Goofy is crate trained and working on housebreaking. He's also up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and micro chipped. If you are interested in meeting Goofy go to EHRDOGS.ORG and submit an application. Don't forget to mention his name: GOOFY LIZMAN!!!!

    Dosho

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-Rat Terrier
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: El Cajon, CA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Cute, compact, playful, and loving - Dosho may be small, but she packs a whole lot of love! This sweet little Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier mix was found as a stray dog wandering the streets of San Bernardino. Dosho joined the temporary barking family in September 2016, and she has given volunteers a new reason to love her every day. She’ll be one of the first to run up and greet you, and she will gladly dole out some kisses in exchange for some pats. She also gets along very well with all of her canine buddies. Dosho is a petite gal of just 10 pounds, which means she can transition easily into virtually any home with other dogs and felines alike. At about 2 years old, Dosho is ready to meet her forever family at last! If you'd like to meet Dosho, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoption-application. Mozart

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-Rat Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Kennesaw, GA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed. SWEET & VERY ACTIVE: 2 years old / 18 lbs. Meet me Saturdays at 1 of our 2 Kennesaw locations from 11-4pm. Check for my location at www.mostlymutts.org after 5pm on Fridays. I’m a very active and alert little guy who loves to run and play, and interact with people! It may however take me a day or two to feel at home and I may be skittish until I know I’m in a great place! Once I’m comfortable, I’ll show you all my love and will keep you entertained bouncing from couch to floor and back again checking in with you. I got to go to a temporary foster home during the recent snow and ice storm and I just loved all the attention and people there. I was also really great with the other dogs there and loved running and playing with them, so if you have a nice dog who would enjoy a playful buddy, we could be great together. I’m a very active dog who thrives on exercise and interacting with my people, so please be prepared to do that with me and we’ll have lots of fun times together! I’m working on my potty manners now and do keep my crate clean, although it’s not my favorite place and I’ll make a bit of noise when crated. Covering my crate at night helps me settle down though. I really just like being with my people and not separated. I’m energizer bunny like and can’t wait to find my perfect family to love and be active with! Best no toddlers as I simply haven’t been around young kids yet. Energy level: 7–9. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered and my adoption fee is $275.00.

    Hopper-PENDI...

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-Rat Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Garfield Heights, OH
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.caninelifeline.org to submit an online application. HOPPER HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. If you’re a fan of Jack Russell Terriers, you’re going to love Hopper. He’s got long legs and looks like a JRT on stilts so there may be something like Rat Terrier or Min Pin in the mix too. We don’t have any history on Hopper as he came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray but we’ve found him to be very friendly with new people and other dogs. He enjoys wrestling and playing chase with the other dogs his size in his foster home so would enjoy having some doggie playtime in his new home too. Walking on a leash is a new experience for Hopper but with a little practice everyday he’s sure to be walking like a pro in no time. Hopper has done well with crate-training in his foster home and after a couple of accidents the first few days has done well with house-training too. He’s a fun boy who would enjoy having some respectful kids in his new home to play with. Hopper weighs about 18 pounds but is thin and needs to gain a few more to be at his ideal weight. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Hopper. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Hopper and to submit an online application. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/2015/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.

    Buddy

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-Rat Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Mukwonago, WI
Posted Breed: Rat Terrier / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). ***Meet the dogs at our facility during open viewing hours, or by appointment, at 828 Perkins Dr, Mukwonago, WI. Bichon and Little Buddies is open weekly on Thursdays, from 2-6:30 pm. During this time you may meet the dogs and fill out a pre-adoption application at which will be checked during the week. Dogs in foster homes require an appointment and approved application to meet. Other than during open hours, we do not show pets without an approved pre-adoption application and appointment. You may fill out the application online at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog *** ABOUT THIS PET: Name: Buddy Breed: Mixed Breed Age: approx 5 year Gender: Male Weight: 20 lb Adoption Fee: $350 Why in Rescue: Owner Surrender General Profile: Please fill out the adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs. Buddy is now in a foster home and here is what his foster mom says about him: My foster mom says I'm versatile - that's a good thing, right? If you want to go jogging, I can keep up. If you like the dog park, I enjoy playing with the other dogs while you chat with the owners. But if you'd rather stay in and binge movies on Netflix I'm all about snuggles on the couch. I love toys - playing tug especially - oh and it's so much fun to tear into plush toys and pull their squeaky's out. But I'd never chew on your things. I know my raw hides and bones are for chewing. I am an excellent Watchdog. I will bark and let you know if anyone is near the house, but I do love meeting new people. My foster mom says I have a bad habit of jumping up on people and "we're working on that". So I'd probably be better in a house with older kids, I wouldn't mean to hurt a little one, but I might knock them over if I jump up on them. Original Profile: Buddy's family moved, and the neighborhood wasn't a good fit for him as all the children running around the neighborhood upset him. His actual breed is unknown, he is just a great smooth coated mix! He is a housetrained and playful guy who likes to snuggle. He is an active player and enjoyed playing with bigger dogs, but may be too rough for dogs smaller than him. He may be too much dog for cats as well, as he enjoys chasing them. He would be fine in a home with no children or older children. If you would like to learn more about Buddy, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we will set up a time for you to meet him. Adoption Procedures: 1. Completely fill out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog. We will be checking with your vet if you have had pets, calling your landlord (if any) and checking a personal reference, before we contact you about visiting the adoptables. Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2. If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in. 3. If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her. In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day. If all the vetting hasn't been done yet, we will hold the pet for you until the vet work is completed. 4. If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application. You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time. Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us! The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $150 - $475 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested and started on preventative, microchipped, and dewormed. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections. To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you will also receive an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training for $50 (up to $190 value). You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, Small Dogs Big Hearts, or Shy & Reactive Dog Class. You must start the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee. For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc All dogs are seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Many are in various foster homes getting extra one on one attention getting them ready for their new homes. The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application. Bichon and Little Buddies is run by volunteers who have full time jobs in addition to the hours they spend with the rescue dogs. Having an application on file assures us that the potential adopter is really interested in adopting a dog. It also assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy. The application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog from Bichon and Little Buddies. Thanks for thinking about adopting your new pet! ***Other than during open hours, we do not show dogs/cats without an appointment. The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Please do not call until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets. If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work. We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home. If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed. We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time. Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out. We do have a 30 day trial period. For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded (minus a $50 administration fee). Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS

    Penelope

    rescue
    Breed: Jack-Rat Terrier
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Kennesaw, GA
Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier / Mixed. VERY ACTIVE AND FUN: 1.5 years old / 25 lbs. Meet me Saturdays at 1 of our 2 Kennesaw locations from 11-4pm. Check for my location at www.mostlymutts.org after 5pm on Fridays. I’m a happy and playful dog who wants a lot of attention, love and some training. I’m busy, alert and love having fun! I want to please you, and I’ll do my best to make you happy! I also absolutely love playing with other dogs, so another very playful dog in my new home would be wonderful and would help me with my activity needs. I love my rope toy and going to for run helps to get my energy out. I however don’t read signs from dogs when it’s time to stop playing, so dogs that don’t want to play a lot wouldn’t appreciate me! I’m a little play nippy for attention but very trainable and responsive to correction, so be sure you are prepared to work with me on training as well as providing me with lots of exercise. I am 100% deaf, so I don’t react to noise but I do react to movement. I have learned hand signals, and so far I’ve learned “good dog”, “stop” and “quiet”—I’m so smart! I also respond to a laser lite, so you can use this to get my attention. I’d do best having a fenced in yard that I could run around in some, either with my family playing fetch or with a doggie friend! Since I need lots of exercise, nice long walks and a family that loves being outdoors perhaps jogging, hiking or camping would be a great fit for me! I tend to get overstimulated when I’m out on a walk near a busy street, and I may try to hide from all the cars (and slip my collar). So, please try to find a calm place to take me for walks. My hearing loss may make me more reactive to cars. Leash training is new to me, so I have a way to go before I have that down. When crated, please provide toys and bones for me to entertain myself while you’re away and cover any blinking lights that might cause me stress. Older dog savvy kids please as I’m active and play nip a little right now. Energy level: 8–10. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed and my adoption fee is $275.00.
