    Penny Pop

    rescue
    Breed: Labbe
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Penny in action with a friend .... https://youtu.be/6-31bAdYecc Updated 9/26/2017- Foster Mom: Penny is a wonderfully smart girl and the perfect combination of affectionate and independent, playful and low-key. Her ears perk right up when you call her name and just one look in those big beautiful eyes will have you falling in love with her. Some of Penny’s favorite things to do include playing with her toys, exploring her new surroundings, and most of all, hanging out with her dog pals. This sweet girl likely experienced little to no structure or love prior to being rescued and is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Now with a warm bed, regular meals, and the kindness and support of those around her, Penny is embracing life and her initial fear of meeting new people has significantly subsided, allowing more of her sweet personality to shine through. While Penny continues to make excellent progress in her foster home, she is still battling some anxiety and needs for people to be patient with her while she gets to know them. She thrives in the company of her dog pals and is looking for a home with at least one other confident resident dog who can vouch for the humans and guide her as she continues to flourish. Penny has shown tremendous resiliency and strength throughout her young life and is looking forward to starting the next chapter and promises that she will always be grateful for your love. Good with Children: Penny has not yet been tested with children, but we believe that she will do well with older, respectful children. Good with Dogs: Yes; Penny is looking for a home with at least one other resident dog. Updated Note from Foster Mom: My new foster Penny - SPECIAL girl... needs a home with at least one other confident dog, a yard to run in and more importantly time to adjust with no pressure. Took us two days to get her into the house and come near us at the Lodge but as you can see she is warming right up now. Labeled as feral nothing could be further from the truth - she loves and craves human attention. She's shy but I don't actually see her as fearful. This dog needs the right situation. - someone home A LOT, room to run while contained for now, someone with patience - although I have not witnessed it she has been noted to have an aversion to crates so hence the reason someone home until she can be tested alone loose in a house. Rescued from the Memphis Animal Shelter, this little peach is still a bit shy but is coming around with the help of her canine foster friends whom she loves - she's checking the humans out and seems to think they will be okay. For now she's healthy and doing well and we hope to find a new home for her in New England ASAP. Name: Penny Wise Breed: Beagle/Lab Mix Sex: Female Age: 1 years Weight: 35 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinations: Up to date Heartworm: Negative Microchipped: Yes BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Unknown at present but believed will be fine with older considerate children Good with Dogs: YES Good with Cats: Unknown Adoption Donation: 250.00 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Interested in a specific dog, please fill out an application if you are interested in a dog. The number of individual inquiries is overwhelming and we are finding it difficult to respond to each one. We cannot guarantee you will receive a timely response. Paws New England is a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our dogs housed in one location - they are in foster homes both in New England and in our southern foster homes. If you're interested in a specific dog, please complete a short online application and you will receive a reply within 48 hours so you can ask questions. At present, if a dog is listed on our website, the dog is considered still available HOWEVER, may have applications that have come in before yours but it's still too early to know if any are a good match; therefore we encourage you to apply. NOTICE WITH REGARD TO LOCATION OF DOGS: Please note: Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a brick and mortar building to house the dogs we rescue. We have found that dogs in foster homes are much more adoptable because they have been observed in a home setting. Dogs listed with Paws New England typically reside in various locations throughout the south (primarily Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas) and New England (not necessarily in the state of Rhode Island). You will be notified by the adoption coordinator of the location of the dog you are interested in so you have the ability to decide whether to pursue adoption or not. Dogs transported to New England are done so at a fee of $150.00 paid directly to the transporting company by Paws New England; no additional transport costs are responsibility of adopter. This fee is included in the adoption donation. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your dog will help others in need. All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history. Paws New England abides by the dog importation regulations set forth in the states of MA, CT, NH and RI.

This dog is solely a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Adoption Donation $ 440 Location/Fostered: in AR (Transport costs are included, please ask for more details) Age: 8 weeks as of 9/20 All pups over 5 months will be altered prior to transport, puppies under 5 months old will receive a FOA voucher: https://www.friendsofanimals.org Hey everyone, My name is Paisley. I am so happy with tons of energy. I have some lab in me and love children and toys. I love to run around, play, give you love, eat then start all over again. I came into this rescue with a little girl who's colors are opposite of me. But she likes to play and have fun too. Her name is Jazz. We have not always been happy and so playful. We were found very dirty and full of fleas in a ditch near an abandoned house out in the country. We were both very hungry. No one knows how we got there. This man was driving by on his bush hog when he saw us. Luckily, he stopped and picked us up. We were so happy to see him, it was hot and we were very thirsty too. Well, this man took us home, contacted the lady who rescued us and asked if we could come. She said yes so here we are. Please adopt me. I am ready to come home and hike, swim, and love you to pieces. Please put your application and deposit in today so I can start coming home Paisley Paisley Female Not spayed Age 8 weeks (as of 9-18) Weight 5 pounds Breed Lab/ Beagle mix Color White and black Loves people, children, dogs/puppies and cats/kittens Please email for more information on this dog: alittlelonger2home@gmail.com This dog is NOT offered for adoption by Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) but an Arkansas rescue partner. Jinx

    Breed: Labbe
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. My name: Jinx My age & breed/mix: Almost 4/beagle and lab mix I know these commands very well: Sit, no and down Leash-walking skills: I pull very little. Extra info about me: I have a bit of anxiety from my past and being in a new home. I'm also working to lose a few pounds. My foster humans take me for daily walks to help! I'm also great at coming when I am called. I really love: being close to people, especially sleeping under beds at night, children and giving them kisses, going for long walks and playing and cuddling with stuffed animals. ========================= About Our Rescue Group: The St. Mary's Animal Welfare League is a nonprofit, rescue organization that specializes in the rescue, care and placement of abused, neglected and homeless companion animals. Our animals are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered and receive medical treatment before being placed in carefully selected homes. We strive to educate the community in areas of humane education and responsible pet ownership as well as helping to control the pet overpopulation in our area by promoting the spaying and neutering of all companion animals. ===Come Meet Our Pets: Come meet our cats every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at Petco in California Maryland. We also have a cat facility in Callaway. The Cat Castle Rescue Center is located in the Callaway Village Shopping Center and is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Please contact info@smawl.org for appointments to meet our dogs. ===Our Adoption Process: It is the St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League’s policy to attempt to place each of our rescued animals in a home that is well- suited to their needs. Once an animal is placed from our rescue, the animal cannot be sold, given away or otherwise transferred. If the adopter is, at any time, unable to keep or continue to maintain the animal for any reason, the animal must be returned to the St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League. We work hard at matching our animals to adopters, so they may end their search for a loving, permanent home. Temperament, special needs and personality are all factors in our placements. ===Step #1 The Adoption Application The initial step in our adoption process is the Adoption Application. This can either be done online or in person. The Adoption form must be filled out completely including vet references and two personal non-family references. Your application will be reviewed and your references will be contacted. We contact your veterinarian to ensure that your current or recently deceased pets were properly taken care of---this means being current on all vaccinations and spayed or neutered. In order to speed up the process, please contact your veterinarian and let them know to expect our call. ===Step #2 Personal Interview You will be interviewed by a SMAWL Board Member or Volunteer either through phone, email or in person. This is an opportunity to learn more specifics about you, your family, your pets and the type of pet you are looking for. At this time, we may suggest that you consider a different animal---one that we may feel might be more acceptable for your situation. If you are completing your application in person, this will most likely be done at that time of completion. ===Step #3 The Home Visit If all goes well with the application verification, we will schedule a home visit. A home visit is required to ensure that your home is everything you say it is on the Adoption Application. It needs to be a suitable safe environment for your new pet. All pets and family members should be home at this time. ===Step #4 Meeting Your Potential Adoptee Once the Application has been reviewed and all references checked, arrangements will be made for you to meet with the animal you wish to adopt, either through the foster parent or the animal’s Case Manager. As a courtesy to our foster families, we do not ask them to show their animals to individuals until we have completed the application approval process. If you have other animals, we recommend a neutral meeting place, such as PETCO or a local park to ensure the animals are compatible outside of their own territory. ===Step #5 Finalizing The Adoption Once the adoption has been approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption. You will need to sign the contract and pay our adoption fee. (Young Dogs Under 1 =$300, Dogs over 1 = $250, Young Cats 2 years and under =$125, Older Cats over 2 years = $75) Foster to adopt over a two week period may be available on a case by case basis. Any applications received for adoptions from beyond St Mary's county line, will be subject to additional terms and conditions available on request. Please Remember: Our entire organization is staffed by volunteers. We have NO paid staff. Our volunteers must work your application around their business and personal lives. We do our best to respond to all inquiries within 2-3 days, and most of the time we are able to respond within 1 day. Please be patient and thank the volunteers you meet for their service to our community’s homeless pet population. === We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We serve the Southern Maryland area.

    Vanna

    rescue
    Breed: Labbe
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Come and meet her this weekend SAT 7 OCT 1130-3 PETCO 4001 W GREEN OAKS BLVD ARLINGTON TX Vanna is a 1 year old mixed breed rescued from Cleburne animal shelter. Best guesses: Shiba Inu/beagle/maybe collie/maybe lab. She's a medium size. About 30 lbs. Medium energy. She is social and enjoys being around the other dogs, big and small, in her foster home. She is confident, affectionate with people and other dogs, super smart, and walks well on a leash. Vanna has been "on loan" (aka extended stay) in her foster home to help the foster mom's own dog recover from the sudden loss of the other keeper/permanent dog. She has been a therapy dog for that grieving dog (and foster mom). Also, she has welcomed numerous other dogs into her foster home during that time. Her special gift is helping dogs recover, relax, and play. She will only be adopted into a home with at least 1 other dog. She is crate trained, housebroken in her foster home, loves to be next to her person, and is, in general, a great house guest, so we believe she'll be a great family addition. She's spayed, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Vanna and adopt, please fill our online application out found here www.shelter2rescue.org click on the adoptable tab. Thank you You can contact her foster mom at LyndaDFW@gmail.com
