I am about a year old and weigh in at a whopping 4 pounds. The commercial breeder I was rescued from said I am a Cavachon/Maltese mix, but just call me CUTE! They also say I look like Falcore from The NeverEnding Story movie. I don't know what any of this means, but I do know that I hope to find a family who will love me! I am quite a nervous little guy right now and am slowly starting to show my personality more and my brave face. I am curious, spunky, and I wag my tail at home. Away from home, I am shy and reserved, but I know I will learn to love all my surroundings someday. Cat toys.. let me tell you about cat toys. I LOVE them! The first week in my foster home, I didn't play with anything. Then one day, I found a couple cat toys and put them in my bed. Later, my family caught me running to get more cat toys to bring them to my bed. I love to have ALL the toys in my bed. Then I chew on them. It is all so much fun! And so CUTE! My foster family allows me to explore on my own and does well with rewarding my when I try something new. This really helps me to brave and I hope my future family can do the same with me. They even let me cuddle with them when I get scared. They said I am actually one of the best cuddler's they've had. I love my head, ears, and belly scratched and will melt in your arms or lap. I am already potty trained and go outside and on potty pads inside when needed. My foster family understands that things scare me outside sometimes, so they taught me to use the potty pads. I'm doing really well! Some final thoughts. I am great with children, cats and with dogs. I would like another dog in the home with me to help with my shyness and teach me the ways of the dog. I am a quiet little guy and do well on walks - no pulling or stopping. I simply walk by your side. And I would love to walk by your side for the rest of my life. Doesn't that sound wonderful!? ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Please understand that all of our pets are in foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please email us to confirm attendance. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: To fill out an online adoption application please visit our website http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. verifiedPosted Breed: Bichon Frise / Maltese / Mixed (medium coat). Piper is a cheerful little guy who loves cuddling and playing with toys, but hates the outdoors. The sweet boy lost his home when his owner died and is looking for a new family that likes to give long belly rubs and take short walks. Piper is a very efficient walker and has no interest in being outdoors any longer than is absolutely necessary. He'll need a family that is committed to playing and exercising indoors -- especially because he really, really loves food. Piper wouldn't mind living in apartment or a townhouse and won't entertain your neighbors with his vocal stylings. Piper seems to like every human he meets and is quick to invite himself into every lap he finds -- though he'd prefer a home without young children. He isn't really interested in other dogs (they can't rub his belly), so, while he's willing to consider siblings, he'd do best as an only dog. We think Piper might be a Bichon/Maltese mix because he's on the smaller side and his super-soft fluff is more beachy waves than tiny ringlets. Whatever breed he is, he's adorable and can't wait to find a family of his own. After coming to rescue, Piper jumped off the couch and injured his leg...... he is now recovering from surgery for repair to a torn cruciate, displaced knee and twisted tibia. He will need light exercise only.

verifiedPosted Breed: Maltese / Bichon Frise / Mixed (medium coat). Bella's adoption donation is $300 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention as well as flea prevention. Bella has also had a dental cleaning. Bella is the sweetest, cutest, most loving, happy-happy-happy, "I want to be next to you"-kinda girl! She is an approximately 4-5 year old Maltese mix (probably with Bichon), and she was pulled from the Franklin County Dog Shelter during their closure. Bella was surrendered at the shelter with Reggie by their owner as they said they could no longer care for them. Both dogs were extremely matted and in poor condition. It took hours of grooming to get the matted hair removed. Bella was such a sweet girl during her lengthy groom. She is bonded with Reggie and mothers him, which is why we do want to keep them together. Bella does great on housetraining and crate training and she is doing so well in her current foster home that she is not being crated. She loves to be with her person and loves to cuddle and play with stuffed toys. Bella also does well on car rides and on a leash. We do prefer a home with a fenced yard. PLEASE NOTE: If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website, not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances. If you go to the individual webpage of our dogs, you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here: http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog. We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved. It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable. If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence. Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets. The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms. The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information. If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed. Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home. No application is approved prior to the home visit being done. At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer. We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.
