verifiedPosted Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback (short coat). It takes a little time to get to know Brady, but once you do, you'll find him irresistible. He has an adorable face and always looks like he is deep in thought. Gentle and sweet, ear scratches are Brady's favorite thing. Brady takes some medications for pain in his back end, and he prefers to be the only dog. Other than that, he doesn't ask for much. Born in 2004, he's ready to live the retirement life, and would like nothing more than to go for leisurely strolls and bask in the sun with a person of his own. Brady is part of our Single Pets* program! That means that he is eligible for a free flight home and waived adoption fee! *Single pets do best as the only dog or cat in the home.

verifiedPosted Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback. COURTESY POSTING: DIVA has been searching for her forever home for 2 years. There is so much to tell about Diva, and her foster, Debbie Ferrell, but there is not enough room here for all of it. The condensed version is that I found Diva in a ditch in east Texas many years ago. She had been dumped there with her brother by a breeder. Her brother was killed within a day or two and she had survived in this culvert near a gas station. She came home with me and slowly improved. Diva was adopted by a couple that I personally checked out, did home visit, etc. and pledged their commitment to working with Diva and loving her forever. Five years later they unceremoniously brought her back with no emotion and with her in bad condition. Debbie Ferrell, the most compassionate, experienced and knowledgeable person I know offered to take her in and foster her. Without Debbie's tireless and consistent work with Diva, I don't know what may have happened to her. But Debbie and I and Diva would like for her to have her very own home. Diva has been listed on Petfinder as "special needs" because of her fears and whatever happened in her first home. I was told Diva was a "ridgeless ridgeback" years ago. Whatever she is, she is gorgeous! DIVA needs a very specific home. She needs a FEMALE owner, single, no children, and no other pets. Diva does not have an aggressive or mean bone in her body. These requirements are because of her fears. She needs a very calm, confident person who does NOT want a "dog park" dog. Someone who is looking for a forever companion. Diva wants to be near you, look out a window, and play with you in the back yard. She would love daily walks if she is in a safe neighborhood without dogs running loose. Debbie can give you more specific information on Diva's personality. Basically she is the most perfect, loving and sweet dog you could ever have. PLEASE -- help us find the perfect home for Diva where she can feel safe, loved. Debbie Ferrell 214-316-6604. verifiedPosted Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback (short coat). Winnie is an owner surrender. We feel like she would grow and thrive if she was the only dog in the home because she has some anxiety and is nervous about new things. She is a beautiful Rhodesian/ hound (possibly mastiff) mix. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home now that she is settled in and weighs about 40 lbs. She is shy around new people, new animals, new sounds, smells. She is perfectly calm when he is in his house and his yard. Winnie just needs to be loved and protected in her forever home. She was found off of Hwy 30 and Winslow (by the fair) in pretty rough shape, but doing better already. She needs to put on a few pounds and his slight skin irritation (possibly flea allergy) needs to clear up. She is eating regularly and on antibiotics. She's got a small limp where a car may have hit him while lose on the street, but the vet says she's a very healthy girl. My foster mom describes me as very affectionate, good natured, lazy, smart, charming, silly, clumsy, cuddly, sweet, and very loyal. She just wants to sit next to you and get all the love. She enjoys going on long walks and is house trained. If you want a calm and loving dog then Winnie is the pup for you. Please submit an application to adopt at www.codysfriendsrescue.com Her adoption fee is $250 which covers a vet check, spay, microchip and vaccinations.
