Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Cooper is a one year old mix who is full of energy and love for anyone and everything. He especially loves kids and other animals. Cooper knows his basic commands and is house, crate and leash trained. He can be very hyperactive and needs plenty of room to play and would love to have another pup to run around with but when he's tuckered out all he wants to do is curl up and cuddle with you. He's very smart and would do great with an active family. He weighs in about 80 lbs

    Age: Young

Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Whoa! My turn already? So much to tell you and so little space! First, my name is Corky. SWAT picked me on on Feb 9th because my friend called and told them that I was going to be shot like my two brothers if they didn't show up quick. I was dumped in a place called Diamond Head and my brothers were shot and killed in just a couple of days. I laid low at Opal's house and she kept me safe. So, I'm here now and safe and being fed but there are so many dogs that I have to stay outside by myself at Grandma's house. I am really a people pup so that part is kind of tough. I am very young, 8-9 months old and weigh about 45 lbs. I am a Red Aussie mixed with something else smart, wonderful but with shorter fur. If you want to meet me, please call SWAT...I'm looking for a foster or forever. (918) 605-6516

    Location: Grafton, WI
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Updated: 2/6/2017 Litter Name: Shameless Litter Age: Born 11/16/2016 Hi my name is Frank. I'm a solid 17 pounds and full of love. My foster family has children, cats and another dog. The dog will play with me and tolerates my energy, and I'm learning how to respect the cats. They definitely are giving me some lessons. I love all people and children. My foster mom says I have such a good temperament. I'm crate trained for the night and during the day. I get up, play a little and run around, but then I know how to just relax in my bed and play with my toys. We are working on potty training and it gets better every day. I've been learning sit, and walking on a leash. So I'm getting all prepared for a good start with my new family and I hope it will be someone soon, because I've got so much love to give. Adoption Fee: $450 We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433 ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Updated: 2/4/2017 Litter Name: Shameless Litter Age: Born 11/16/2016 Hi I'm Carl (the cuddler)! I weigh about 20 lbs. When I was with all my brothers and sisters a new foster family came to take me. They brought their little girl with them. Well she was pretty much the best thing I ever saw and I went right up to her to say hello and then just stayed as close to her as I could. They had come thinking they would take one of my siblings but my sweet personality had me headed off with them that day. Here I get to wrestle for hours with my sister and play with a bulldog. There is also a cat but he's not playful and I'm not very interested in him anyway. Sweet is a word they say often. I'm definitely a playful sometimes crazy puppy but I'm pretty quick to settle down with a bone to chew (when my sister lets me). I like to sit and chew by my Bulldog foster sister and just be close to her. Foster mom says I'm very huggable. I like being picked up and snuggled with. She says I'm an absolute love. As far as house training goes I've pretty much got it down. I do good all night in my crate. When we go outside I know exactly what to do. When I'm playing in the house and have to go, I go to the door, sit in front of it and paw it with one gentle paw. Foster mom says I'm pretty much the best puppy ever. Some of my favorite things are wrestling with my sister, chewing on toys, snuggles, playing tug, ice cubes (when my sister doesn't steal them!) and my foster dad's daughter. I get so excited when she is over. Foster mom thinks a family with a kid would be great for me because how quick I took to her. I can't wait to go to my forever home. I'm going to make some lucky family the best companion they could ever ask for. Jack

    Breed: Sheprador
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Cottonwood, AZ
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Good day! My name is Jack. I was found on the streets and some really nice people brought me to Pets Return Home. The vet says I am a Labrador/Heeler mix, I am between 8 months and a year old, and I am a happy, healthy, house-trained young pup with lots of personality! I am nervous around people I do not know. I like cats, I really want to please my people once I understand what they want, and l am working on being leash trained, but I need a lot of help with that. I don't mind kids so long as they don't pull my tail or treat me rudely. I am energetic and hope to get someone who will teach me and play with me, and go to the dog park so I can run. I like playing, and really want a forever home I can call my own, with an owner who will be patient with me as I grow up! Is this you? I look forward to meeting you! Come see Jack and the other homeless dogs & maybe find a new friend. We have dozens of dogs looking for new homes as a foster or new family member. We are located in Clarkdale, AZ off of Sycamore Canyon Road. www.petsreturnhome.org Behavioral notes: Jack is a fun loving submissive dog. He is nervous of humans right now. This is due to lack of socialization with them. He does get used to people who have fostered him. Currently we are working with him on confidence. He plays with 20 plus dogs each day and is not aggressive at all. He needs an owner who will be patient with his fear. He will warm up in about 3 weeks once in a foster or adopt home. He does have some heeler in him and will on occasion try and nip a female heels. He knows this is undesirable and does not do it with us on the ranch. He is on house training and assessment now. He is a counter surfer. So some attention to correcting that will need to be done by his foster or adopter. He is house trained and crate trained. He will make a wonderful pet for a caring expressive person. He does like belly rubs and hiking.

    Pandora

    Breed: Sheprador
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Malakoff, TX
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Pandora is a one year old Aussie/Lab mix, looking mostly like a Lab but with an adorable Aussie bobbed tail. She's a medium sized girl at only 45 pounds. Pandora is a bundle of happiness! Like any Aussie, she needs lots of exercise and play time to be happy. Pandora is a great walking and running companion, but her favorite thing is fetch. This dog is ball crazy! She will run until she's falling down tired. She also loves to chew on antlers, bones, and hard Kong toys and can entertain herself for hours with a good chew toy. Pandora had a rather rough start in life and did not get the love and attention that she deserves, so she is going to need an adopter who is understanding and patient with her and will give Pandora time to trust. She can be fearful at first and needs time to warm up to new people, but once she knows she is safe she will love you with her whole heart. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play, but she is not suitable for a family with small children. Pandora still has a lot of puppy in her and has all of that floppy, loving puppy joy to give. She has been fully vaccinated, spayed, tested negative for heartworms, and is current on heartworm and flea preventatives. She is available for a $250 adoption donation, and if you would like to add this sweet, happy dog to your family, please download an adoption application from our website, www.twistedbranchaussies.com, and submit it to the email address on the form.

    Eve Solis

    rescue
    Breed: Sheprador
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Wakefield, RI
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Age: 7.5 Years Weight: 45 lbs This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Lovely, friendly and just a bit shy, that's Eve Solis! Eve is excited about everything! She loves to sniff and scratch her stomach on the grass. She loves belly rubs and is extremely good on a leash! She appears to be an Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix about 7.5 years old. She's good with other dogs and with children - kitty cats are an unknown as of yet. She will need to be house trained and is already crate trained. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and her human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take her. Eve's already mastered "down" and can't wait to learn some more commands! Though she doesn’t necessarily require a fenced yard, she will need daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park which is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Eve is playful, though not into toys. She's affectionate, eager to please, even-tempered and gentle. She's really looking forward to finding her forever home with all the love and stability that she never had. If you can provide all the things that she's been dreaming of, fill out an application today! And don't forget the belly rubs! Eve'll be expecting a life-time of them! Eve's Backstory: This sweet dog is one of several dogs rescued by SOS's partner, the Humane Society of Independence County, Arkansas, in August of 2016 from an outfit that claimed to be a "wildlife rehabilitation and rescue organization." Eve was confined in a very small cage with several other large breed dogs. The only access door to her cage had been barricaded and there was a ladder leaning against it so that someone could climb up and dump food onto the ground for the dogs to eat. Their water was infested with mosquito larvae and their pen was nothing but feces and mud. In addition to the rescued dogs, officials found a python, bobcats, coyotes, raccoons, and other wildlife housed on the property. The owner got 19 counts of misdemeanor for cruelty to animals, community service, fines, restitution, and jail time. Medical Note: This dog is being treated for heartworm disease with multiple staged melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted, estimated for mid-April 2017. SOS exclusively supports the American Heartworm Association protocol for heartworm disease. Before coming to SOSARL, heartworm treatment was attempted on this dog following another protocol, but was unsuccessful. Following AHS protocol takes more time and costs more money, but this dog is a living testament as to why that protocol is the standard. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog has shown no clinical symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics. Sponsorship: This dog's heartworm treatment expenses have been made possible by a collaborative effort between the Humane Society of Independence County, AR, and the Martha Decker Memorial Fund for Animals special Heart Help project. Proper treatment for heartworm disease can take hundreds of dollars and several months - two precious resources that can be very hard to find for homeless dogs. To follow this dog's treatment story, and those of other Heart Help dogs, visit www.facebook.com/HWHeartHelp. Please consider supporting heartworm treatment of SOS dogs by donating today via PayPal.com to dogs@sosarl.org. Adoption Fee: $425 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
