Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Mason is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters! Mason is currently fostered in Miramar (Broward County). Mason is about 2 years old and around 40 lbs. We think he is a shepherd mix with maybe some lab in there. Whatever he is, he's a good-looking mutt! Mason gets along great with other dogs and is very playful. He is super cuddly and loving! He is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands. He loves to play with toys, especially ball. Mason had FHO hip surgery in October and is all recovered and ready for adoption! Mason is looking for his forever home!

    Eve Solis

    rescue
    Breed: Sheprador
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Wakefield, RI
Posted Breed: Australian Shepherd / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Age: 7.5 Years Weight: 45 lbs This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Lovely, friendly and just a bit shy, that's Eve Solis! Eve is excited about everything! She loves to sniff and scratch her stomach on the grass. She loves belly rubs and is extremely good on a leash! She appears to be an Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix about 7.5 years old. She's good with other dogs and with children - kitty cats are an unknown as of yet. She will need to be house trained and is already crate trained. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and her human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take her. Eve's already mastered "down" and can't wait to learn some more commands! Though she doesn’t necessarily require a fenced yard, she will need daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park which is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Eve is playful, though not into toys. She's affectionate, eager to please, even-tempered and gentle. She's really looking forward to finding her forever home with all the love and stability that she never had. If you can provide all the things that she's been dreaming of, fill out an application today! And don't forget the belly rubs! Eve'll be expecting a life-time of them! Eve's Backstory: This sweet dog is one of several dogs rescued by SOS's partner, the Humane Society of Independence County, Arkansas, in August of 2016 from an outfit that claimed to be a "wildlife rehabilitation and rescue organization." Eve was confined in a very small cage with several other large breed dogs. The only access door to her cage had been barricaded and there was a ladder leaning against it so that someone could climb up and dump food onto the ground for the dogs to eat. Their water was infested with mosquito larvae and their pen was nothing but feces and mud. In addition to the rescued dogs, officials found a python, bobcats, coyotes, raccoons, and other wildlife housed on the property. The owner got 19 counts of misdemeanor for cruelty to animals, community service, fines, restitution, and jail time. Medical Note: This dog is being treated for heartworm disease with multiple staged melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted, estimated for mid-April 2017. SOS exclusively supports the American Heartworm Association protocol for heartworm disease. Before coming to SOSARL, heartworm treatment was attempted on this dog following another protocol, but was unsuccessful. Following AHS protocol takes more time and costs more money, but this dog is a living testament as to why that protocol is the standard. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog has shown no clinical symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics. Sponsorship: This dog's heartworm treatment expenses have been made possible by a collaborative effort between the Humane Society of Independence County, AR, and the Martha Decker Memorial Fund for Animals special Heart Help project. Proper treatment for heartworm disease can take hundreds of dollars and several months - two precious resources that can be very hard to find for homeless dogs. To follow this dog's treatment story, and those of other Heart Help dogs, visit www.facebook.com/HWHeartHelp. Please consider supporting heartworm treatment of SOS dogs by donating today via PayPal.com to dogs@sosarl.org. Adoption Fee: $425 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed. Online application here Meet Gregory of the "G Pups!" The "G Pups" are 9 week old Lab/Aussie mixes. Mom, Gretel is an Aussie mix and from their appearance, Dad is likely a Lab. The pups are all super sweet, playful, and lovable. Because they are babies, they'll require adopters who are home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! All of the pups are great with other dogs, love people of all ages and young enough to learn about cats. The pups are all up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town-homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old. The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** To complete an online application, please click here then email Courtney at CLust@petconnectrescue.org.
