i is a special Boy, he becomes very bonded with his human and is loving and playful. Rexxi has been handled all his life because they were bottle fed since birth to help mom out, who could not produce enough milk to feed every pup. Rexxi needs a companion dog, either a young adult already in the home for companionship and mentoring or be adopted with another dog or puppy. Puppies are babies and need their own species to learn from, and to grow up with. All of Rompin Paws Rescue puppies and adults are fed a Human Grade Diet and each adopter will be educated on proper animal nutrition so the pups will grow strong and maintain a life of great health. To apply to adopt a Rompin paws rescue dog, please fill out our online application at: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescue animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. Adoption Fees Adoption fee is $450.00. This covers transport from California to Washington, to the rescue facility, adoption and medical such as certain vaccines, worming, parasite, and flea/tick control, health certificate and wellness exam, microchip and any extra medical attention a dog may require such as dental, anal gland expression, emergency medical care. Also, we don't receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs. Adopting a puppy requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Levi will be an awesome addition to a family that can give him the attention, exercise, training and affection he deserves. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences. 5) Secure visible fencing required. 6) You must have plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. 7) Please do NOT write us and ask if this puppy is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the puppy may not be available. 8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy. Health: Rexxi has not yet been neutered, a medical addendum will be required to guarantee spaying by the adopter , she is microchipped, current on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. He has been wormed and flea treated, tested negative for heartworm and Parvo History: Rexxi's mom was pregnant in overcrowded shelter in California. Rompin Paws Rescue was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs RPR pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state Law. Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for Rexxi please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application. We bring dogs from up from California. so there are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and sometimes boarded if we can't place them in a foster, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington, Come Meet Our Pets... We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process... Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. we continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
