mix, but to me, I am just ME! I am 8 years old, I have been neutered, I take Heart Guard every month, and I had my 3 years rabies shot on 3/18/16. I understand some human words like "sit", "wait", "treat", and "kennel". I LOVE LOVE LOVE to go for walks. I get very excited and can hardly contain my joy over the prospect. My current mom isn't as energetic as I would like (she says she's a "Senior Citizen" whatever that means) and her daughter is afraid I will get tangled up between her feet so we don’t get to go out for walks as much as I would like. I would love to live with someone with lots of energy that wants to walk with me! I had a little trouble at the rescue where my current mom adopted me. I was grabbed by my little head and shaken very hard by one of the large dogs there. OW! It gave me seizures and I walked crooked for days and my current mom said she wasn't sure I was going to live through that! It was hard, but I made it fine, although I have some nervousness and other neurological issues. Mostly I just seem to be extra high-strung and "flinchy". I would like to be an only child. I need LOTS of one-on-one attention from a quiet, gentle, patient person who also has the energy to help me walk off my stress and nervous jitters. My current mom REALLY doesn't want to re-home me to just anyone, she wants to be certain we are a perfect match. She said she wanted to chime in on my bio, so I will go now and let her "talk". I hope if you are reading this and thinking we might be a match that you are serious because I am looking for a home where I will be horribly spoiled and relentlessly loved. I am Susan, Mr. Frodo's current mom. I’m not fostering him out until he finds a new home, he'll stay here with me because I want to be sure I get to speak directly to the person who decides he is exactly the fur baby companion they have been searching for. So a little more about Mr. Frodo: He wears male diapers to prevent excessive in-house (fear-based) marking, but he uses the doggie door for other business. He has typical crested dentation and skin issues. He is comical, has silly antics, is very shy with new people and situations but has no fear of thunder or fireworks. He has minimal hair on his tail, feet & head. He loves to cuddle at night and sleeps with me. I have had him since he was a puppy. The decision to re-home him has not been easy, but he does not do well with smaller dogs and becomes extremely food aggressive at times. He needs to walk more to burn off the nervous energy but I am 75 and after having knee replacement am a little unsteady at times. I love Mr. Frodo very much, but the decision has been made that he would have better quality of life in a home where he is the only 'child'. As I said, he is very nervous and he has been tried on several different medications for aggression and hyperactivity without much success. He has had some clicker training and would probably do well with one on one attention with more training. He weighs about 15 pounds. He is very loving and enjoys attention once he gets to know someone and is able to overcome his fear. Before adoption is considered, it is IMPERATIVE that I know that Mr. Frodo is being placed in a home where the family understands the requirements of a special needs pup and even better if they are familiar with the peculiarities of a hairless breed. Please, serious inquiries only. He is not suitable for families with children or other pets. The only reason he is looking to be re-homed is to make his quality of life better as an only fur-child who will be spoiled with extra patience, love and attention. Mr. Frodo will come with all his clothes (he gets cold easily, being hairless), several washable cloth diaper bands (which are held on with velcro and hold disposable incontinence pads) and any special ointments used on his feet for issues typical with the hairless breed. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
