stered Standard Poodles with fantastic temperaments and work with the puppies from birth through the day they go to their new homes. We pride ourselves on our breeding philosophy and our dedication to our lines as evidenced by us supporting our puppy owners for the entire life of the dog.
We raise our pups using methods that are based on empirical data. We provide ENS beginning at day 3 and continuing through day 18 and use elements of puppy culture combined with positive reinforcement behavioral and operant conditioning. We keep our pups for a minimum of ten weeks as opposed to the standard eight in order to ease the transition to the new home, for everyone involved. This allows us time to reinforce things like going potty outdoors and going into the crate without a struggle as well as to deter negative behaviors such as inappropriate chewing, etc. that can cause stress during the critical integration phase.
While we are generally opposed to the "designer dog" phenomena that has been so popular in the U.S. the last few years, especially when those designs are the result of basically ANY breed being paired with the poodle, without regard for breed compatibility or health risks, we recently welcomed a litter of F1b (F1b=1st gen labradoodle + purebred poodle=¾ poodle) Labradoodle puppies into the family. This was done at the prompting of a friend, and after we thoroughly examined the health tests of the male labradoodle and compared comprehensive DNA health data of both the stud dog and our girl Abby to ensure that neither carried recessive gene traits that would pose a risk to puppies when combined. While we are unsure if this is an endeavor we will ever undertake again, the results of this pairing are exceptional and we will add the Labradoodle to our kennel lines, at least for now. :)
