I breed dogs specifically to guard livestock. We have wolves and mountain lions here and my dogs have faced both on many occasions. While it is possible to purchase one of these fine animals as a family guardian, and people do, they require lots of room and must absolutely be restrained as they will present a serious danger to neighbors pets. On the other hand, they are loving, loyal, and fantastic with young children who they will protect with their lives. There are different philosophies on rearing these pups. There is a breeder, for example, who crops the ears back to the skull Turkish style, and photographs the dogs in a variety of fearsome looking poses intended to make them look as scary as possible. I depend on six thousand years of breeding history, and I look for exceptional instinct, powerful shoulders, and keen intelligence. From there I socialize my pups... they are given lots of love, and made to feel safe. It has been my experience that this produces a loving, loyal, devoted companion that will guard your home, livestock, and property 24/7 with its life. I have an open door policy the first year. If for any reason the dog does not work out return it to me for a full refund no questions asked. To date no one has returned a pup.
