PENELOPE - BEAGLE DOG FOR ADOPTION

Posted Breed: Beagle. Adoption Fee: 300. Penelope is as cute and sweet as they come. At only 21 pounds, she is the perfect lap dog. She is a velcro dog and wants to be curled up next to you or in your lap as much as possible. When she goes about the house hiding her stuffed animals behind cushions, it’s adorable. Her inside manners are good. She is house trained, although on a cold morning, she would rather curl up in bed than go out. She has to be lured into her crate and may protest loudly for a bit, but then settles down nicely. She does not chew things. She does occasionally jump from a chair onto a side table to explore. Penelope loves all people and has been great with other dogs, both big and small. Given her personality, I think she would do well with children. She has not been around cats. Penelope loves to ride in the car and stick her head out the window. She’s done well on longer trips, settling in the back seat for a nap. Penelope is learning not to pull on a leash but has a hard time focusing once her nose hits the ground. Which leads me to her one fault- if she gets loose, she will run away. Although she is getting much better with the ‘wait’ command at doors and in her crate, she is a bit of an escape artist and we are very careful with opening and closing house and car doors. An adopter will need to be super vigilant until Penelope settles into the home’s routines. Although she enjoys walks, she loves to zip around the yard and would be happiest with a fenced yard. Penelope is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate
