Posted Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 300. Woody is about a year + and is still very puppy-like. He has a good mixture of hyper puppy energy and chill on the couch and binge watch a t.v. show energy. He is small at just under 12 lbs. He absolutely loves to play and has really enjoyed his 2 foster siblings. But because he came from an under socialized neglected situation all things are new and somewhat scary for him. It took a solid 10 days of work to acclimate Woody with his foster siblings. This included buddy walks daily and initiating play through a gate system. They are now absolutely best friends. He has been cat friendly from the get go and enjoys all the people he has met along the way. Although he hasn't yet met a child, i think he would be okay with kids. He is crate trained but will get stressed out if he is in his crate for long periods which leads to him to vomiting. He would really prefer someone that is home more often. He is also potty trained but he has marked on a few places around the house. All animal breeds and ages are a best estimate

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
