Posted Breed: Hound / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 150.00. Update: 03/18/2024 Mimi was returned to our rescue to no fault of her own. She is a fantastic girl and has settled in quickly into her foster home. Here is what we have discovered so far: > she absolutely loves people and children > she walks nicely on the leash > she loves car rides > she is a great, calm companion on a boat and even goes with you on a paddle board > she is house and crate trained > she loves to be around and play with other dogs > we still have to introduce her to cats > she loves chasing squirrels so there is a bit a a prey drive but it is easily managed > cuddle time? oh yes! If you are looking for a beautiful in color and well rounded dog you may want to come meet Mimi. We all love her here at Bobbie's Mimi came to us from a local shelter after her previous owner was no longer able to care for her. What do we know so far: - Mimi is a bit shy but opens up quickly - Mimi gets along well with dogs and cats - Mimi loves to be around adults and children - Mimi does well on car rides - Mimi seems partially potty trained Mimi is a very happy girl and playful, loves her treats and food and is always happy to share her toys with other dogs. She loves to cuddle herself into your lap and share the couch with you to watch TV.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
