Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever (medium coat). To apply for Zeus click this link: form.jotform/230296113596155 Zeus is a 9 year old black lab mix. He is about 50 pounds and is an extremely sweet, loving, loyal dog. He spends most of his days curled up on the couch. He enjoys going on walks and chasing after squirrels in the backyard. He is still very healthy and active and loves to go on walks (although he doesn’t need to daily by any means) and can go on 1-2 mile runs before getting tired. We think Zeus would be a great dog for a younger or older person who is looking for companionship as he is extremely chill and laid back and house broken. He would also be a good dog for a family that has older children as he is house-broken and does not require a lot of attention. Zeus belonged to the same young couple for 10 years and they recently had a baby. Once the baby became mobile, Zeus was exhibiting some resource guarding behaviors. Zeus worked with a dog trainer and was responding very well to the treatment but with a small child in the house, the couple didn’t have enough time to work through behavior modification training with Zeus and after speaking with their veterinarian, they decided to try to find Zeus a new home. He never bit the child but would grumble when the child would come near things Zeus perceived as his. He’s been around older children many times in his life and there’s been no issues but would be best in a house without small children. The family is very eager to help Zeus find a loving home as he’s been an unbelievably sweet and loving companion.
