Columbo found himself at a rural shelter due to the irresponsibility of his previous family, who failed to spay and neuter their pets. After fathering a litter of pups, Columbo was surrendered to the shelter. His journey took a positive turn thanks to the intervention of a compassionate shelter volunteer who stepped up to foster him. Columbo is now being fostered with Heather, her husband, and their two large dogs. He had an easy transition to his new pack and has proven to be a great guest. Columbo is housetrained, crated-trained, and respectful with the other dogs. Heather describes him as a happy, affectionate, and social boy who exudes energy yet will settle down for snuggles. While still learning some basic manners, like controlling his excitement when you return home, Columbo's authentic joy in seeing you is heartwarming. He loves to chew on bones and toys around his pup buddies and appreciates being part of a pack. Though he may indulge in counter-surfing if food is left unattended, we are working on getting this fixed. Columbo is a young dog with a zest for life in search of a fun, active family.
