Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed. All Annie asks is to love and be loved. Aged between 8 and 9 years, the 14-pound brown beauty is most content in the company of her fosters and could easily exist on a daily diet of affection! Sweet, calm and gentle, she adores being held on her foster mom’s lap and loves snuggling and cuddling with her. Given that she had lived her entire life with an older woman, this is perfectly understandable, and when her owner became wheelchair bound, Annie, who was wonderfully trained, would retrieve whatever she dropped – once she was given permission -- and return it to her. Motivated by food and love, she knows all of her commands, including “come,” “sit,” “down,” “stay” and “no,” favors mini Milkbone biscuits as treats, accepting them gently and then briefly dancing about in delight. Content with daily short walks and friendly with the cat in her former home, she’s now being slowly introduced to and incorporated into her foster home’s dog pack. Leash and crate trained and almost fully house-trained, Annie would adore an adoptive home with someone there more often than not and whose lap is always warm, welcoming and open. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $80. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here .
