Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 550. Vannelope is from Texas. She was rescued from a high kill shelter there. She was listed as shy/scared in the shelter, but her Texas foster mom said that as soon as she was out of that loud scary shelter, this sweet girl just melted into a puddle of cuddles. Vannelope isn't completely potty trained, but has been working on it and is mostly trained. Her foster mom says that she knows exactly what to do when you bring her outside, going potty right away. Sometimes she has a hard time holding it through the night and will occasionally need a middle of the night potty break. Vannelope is leash and crate trained. She is crated while left alone at the house, and takes all her meals and any high value treats there. Vannelope sleeps in her crate next to her foster mom at night. Vannelope is an absolute sweetheart, getting along with all the dogs in her foster home. The dogs she has been exposed to are all smaller breeds, but we have no reason to believe she wouldn't be fine with large dogs as well. Vannelope has met a cat and is curious but respectful. She has not yet been kid tested, but her personality leads us to believe she would be fine with kids, with a preference for older more considerate children. She would love a family that just wants to make her a part of their busy lifestyle.. taking the time to walk her everyday so she can sniff around and explore her new surroundings.. and allowing her on the furniture to snuggle in the evening. Vannelope is a true companion animal.. preferring to be near you over just about anything else.
