******ONLY 2 REMAINING OF OF APRIL 2 **** Purebred Turkish Kangal Pups. Male (dad) and Dam (mom) are very powerful guardian dogs. These dogs come from the Sivas region in Turkey and are 100% bred to protect flocks from predators large or small. They are stronger than almost all other breeds and have the strongest bite force of any K-9 breed in the world. That being noted, they are loyal, friendly, happy and always gentle with their family members. If you are unfamiliar with the breed, do your research before even considering a true Turkish Kangal as they are not a house pet. They want to be left alone to do their job and recieve attention as they see fit. They enjoy your company very much but they are a true working dog and are not so content being a couch potato. In fact, they are too large to be an inside dog unless you have acreage for them to run on. At 10 months old (still a youngster) the male was 33 inches tall (almost 3 feet tall) at his back standing with all 4 paws flat on the ground. When standing up on his hind legs he was 6 feet tall. He weighed over 100 pounds and roamed freely on 600,000 acres keeping predators away. At 10 months old the female was 30 inches tall and weighed over 90 pounds. Females of this breed prefer men and the males prefer females. Both genders are affectionate to children. I say it again, these dogs are strong, powerful guardian dogs bred to defend flocks or livestock from wolves, bears, coyotes and birds of prey. If it is not supposed to be there, they will make sure it leaves or they change its mind about being there! Our dogs are raised on a ranch and travel with us between our ranch in Oregon and our ranch in Alaska. They keep coyotes and badgers away in Oregon and when we are at the ranch in Alaska, they keep wolves, wolverines and grizzly bears away. Yes, they can and have detered grizzlies and wolves.
