Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever. The puppies have arrived! Born on 4/2/24 to Willow and Rowan, 6 Females and 4 Males... our spring themed (and LOTR themed) litter. Meet 'Lily', our White collared female. Lily is the largest of the litter! She is very playful, loves people, is able to play independently, and loves to climb onto your lap for a nice nap. Our breeding program is designed around improving the breed for a better, stronger, and smarter family companion. The puppies are born indoors, closely monitored, and lovingly handled from the whelping box to the new families! All pups will undergo early neurological stimulation (ENS), early socialization exercises, and noise desensitization. We try to familiarize the pups with different terrains and environments, their new names (when given timely), and have the pups litter trained prior to going to their new homes. At around the 4 week marker, we begin manding training using a clicker, teaching them to communicate with their owners by sitting instead of jumping. At 5 weeks, we work on resource guarding, which can show itself in food aggression, or guarding a favorite toy, bed, etc. This teaches the pups that taking away a high quality meal object (bone, meat, toy, etc.) is not a bad thing, and can result in a higher quality reward. We invest a lot of time in our pups, and it is all time well spent to achieve our goal an overall better companion for you and your family! All puppies must stay with us up until the 8 week mark, as they are learning crucial lessons from their mom and litter mates. The pups will be up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormers, and health checked by a licensed veterinarian prior to going home with their new family. We also send them home with a packet containing AKC registration info, genetic testing info for the dam/sire, AKC bloodline info, and a blanket and toy with their litter mate and mothers scent (we encourage new owners to bring pet beds, toys, etc. to rub on the mom for scent recognition... making the transition easier).
