Maggie is a loving, independent dog that is the total package. She is intelligent, house-trained, crate-trained, and a joy to have in the house. She loves playing with toys, going on long walks, and playing with other dogs. She is quite intelligent- learned the doggie door in just a few minutes. She walks nicely on a slack leash and doesn't pull. She is politely interested in other dogs and doesn't bark or pull when meeting them. Maggie LOVES her food (and needs to lose 10 lbs) and doesn't like to share with other dogs. Her foster home (which has 6 other dogs) feeds her separately in a bedroom so that she doesn't have to worry about other dogs trying to eat her dinner. Maggie loves being with people but at the same time, is fairly independent. She is happy to curl up on the couch at bedtime or snuggle in her crate. She will put herself to be on her own. She doesn't chew on anything -- your furniture is safe! Maggie would do best in a home without kids or with older kids only. She lost her first home for biting at a young child who pet her while she was sleeping and she was startled awake. She also snapped at a groomer trying to trim her nails. However, the foster home has not seen any signs of aggression and she has been around a large number of people. Maggie really flourishes with another doggie friend. We would love to see her in a home with another young dog to romp.
