Posted Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Meet Blossom! This fabulous girl is a catch! Blossom is an easy-going and sweet girl. Very affectionate, good with other dogs as well as kids over 5. Blossom is the perfect blend of active and snuggly. She has lived with cats in the past and has done quite well. She loves to play in the yard. Her pictures make her look bigger than she is - she is only around 30 lbs. Blossom has an old injury on her front leg that causes her foot to be turned out. It does not impede her functioning at all and she can run and play as usual. Blossom is vaccinated, spayed and will be chipped. Her adoption fee is $395 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
