Description
Posted Breed: Schnauzer / Mixed (medium coat). This scruffy boy is Herbie, a fun-loving Schnauzer mix who is 16 months old and weighs 18 pounds. He is completely vetted, neutered, housebroken and leash trained. He is dog friendly (but doesn’t love huge dogs) and kid friendly. He does not like cats. He will be coming to NJ with his brother Sparky to find a forever home. Herbie is the more outgoing of the 2 pups while Sparky is initially a little shy until he gets to know you. Herbie enjoys walking and sniffing out his area - he loves all the smells life has to offer. Herbie loves everyone and taking walks, playing with his foster sibs, running around, cuddling, sleeping at night and going on adventures. Herbie is a good eater but not food aggressive with his three foster sibs. He would make a great family pet in an active family. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
