Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Looking for your missing link? Then this little bundle of joy is the match for you. This handsome boy enjoys spending his time lounging in your arms and tossing stuffies around for fun. Major cuddle bug! Just a little bit of love and food and he will be your best bud forever. Come hang out with Link today! Link does have a heart condition and is on daily medication. Link also is shy and takes a little warming up, he much prefers using a yard as his restroom. While he will pee on leash, pooping is very rare. Link also is very responsive and eager to please and learns new enviroments relatively quickly. Link is roughly 4-5 years old and weighs about 26 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. His adoption fee is $200. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at petsmpravl for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
