Description
Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Fill out an Online Adoption Application! Hello. My name is Moe. I am told that the Amish bred me to be a Texas Heeler to sell. Nobody had ever messed with me and new people scared me so much, I would pee all over myself. Sadly I didn't sell fast enough, and I was headed for trouble when a nice man took me for free. He had me vetted, and he loved me very much. We were best friends, but he got a new job at the mines. He wasn't home much at all. He only had Sunday’s off, and he slept all day. He really wanted me to stay, but if he didn’t kennel me, I would run off. I found another place to go with humans that were home and they had a puppy I liked. I ran there day after day until the lady let me stay, and she started trying to find me the right home. It has been over a year now with no interest. She tells me it is okay. She said shelters are all full of dogs like me waiting, and there are not enough good homes here. I have done my best to improve for her because I do love her. I used to be very scared of new people and would hide. But she had lots of nice people that came, and they were always nice to me. I felt brave with the puppy friend. We have had lots of good days on the farm. I love them all. When she is around, I do okay. I stop chasing cars when she calls my name. I never run the cats when she is watching me. She has a cat rescue and has soooooo many cats that need me to help them be good. But I know she loves them, so I try hard to be nice to them. When we are inside, it is easier. They don’t run in the house, so I don’t think I have to help them. My biggest problem is that she has horses and goats. It just seems like they need my help staying in line. I don't get in too much trouble with those because one of the goats has some large horns and one of the horses kicks at me often. I have to do my job without getting too close. Once they stay still, I can lay down and just watch them. But there is a huge hog on the farm. I have been getting in lots of trouble with him. It isn’t all my fault because he is very stubborn and runs places he shouldn't. He gets out of his fence and goes to the horse field. I just can't let that happen. So I found that if I bite his leg, I can win more battles. But he keeps getting stronger, and I have to bite harder. This time I have ripped so much skin off that they have to pay a vet to visit the farm. The lady didn’t want the stupid hog anyway. Who would? They stink, and they are hard headed. But now I am in big big trouble with the other humans that bought the hog. I am not able to go out and play any more. I have to be watched or kenneled all the time. I am just over 2 and all I want is a family where I can do a job that doesn’t get me in trouble or get any thing hurt. I want to be loved. I will miss the lady, but honestly I need to get away from all this temptation. I would love to have a guy like my first guy. We were best friends. He used to even take me trail riding where I could follow the horses and make sure they walked the line. He was good with the horses and they always minded, so none of us ever got in trouble. It would be best for all of us if I left the farm. I just need a place where I can be myself and not stay in trouble. I am not sure why the Amish thinks the world needs so many herding dogs if there isn’t enough work for us all. I feel like if someone would just give me the chance, there is something that I can do for them to repay them for giving me another chance If you are interested in meeting any of our babies, please contact us or complete an online application at kykittycats.rescuegroups/forms/form?formid=6024 We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. Our numbers have increased exponentially since Covid. Unlike most shelters, we remained open and hit record intake numbers after the epidemic hit. We have taken in dozens of very sick felines that had no other option, and have even helped over 60 canines in 2021. 2022 was not any better. We are trying to compute our end of the year numbers, but intake, vetting expenses, cost of food and litter for our 120 plus cats all just continues to get worse with the cost of living increasing like it has. Our rescue has also provided record number spay/neuters 2023 at well over 1200 surgeries on cats and dogs. Our accounts are drained, but we feel these surgeries are the only way we are going to be able to stay a float. We will never keep up with the rate that cats can breed in our area. We operate solely on donations, and we are always looking for wonderful families to join our efforts. We have dozens of felines not posted and dozens more on our waiting list. No matter what type of setting you have, if you are looking to save a feline, we can find one for you to help. Please visit and like our social media... .facebook/kykitties instagram/kentuckykittycats?igshid=11qfoexi4imaf and now we are on TIKTOK! Our PayPal and Venmo is under kykittycatsyahoo and our cash app is $kykittycats All donations are much appreciated, and feel free to designate how you want them spent.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
