Posted Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. She has come out of her shell after fighting pneumonia. Rosie is medium drive and would do well in a home that is active and has another dog. This is what we’ve learned about 10 month old Rosie in the last 4 weeks: Dog and people friendly Happy 24/7 and so sweet and loving Extremely food motivated Understands basic commands/easy to train Crate trained Basic leash trained Potty trained Behavior we are working on: Some seperation anxiety when left in crate/alone Dribbles slightly when excited Still learning that hands aren’t toys! Manners Has not been tested with cats or children Rosie is a 9 month old Malnourished pup who was brought into the shelter. We are just learning about this sweet baby and will post more updates as we learn more about her Rosie gets along with both males and female pups. She is good at maintaining her boundaries calmly and politely. Rosie does not like overly excitable pups. Rosie was found as a stray extremely malnoursished. She is submissive with people and very sweet. We will keep updating her profile as she blossoms in her new loving foster home. We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
