Posted Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois (short coat). Hi, my name is Logan. I am approximately 1.5 years old and weigh 40 pounds. I was found as a stray. The staff don't know exactly what happened to me, but it seems like I was abused. I have scars on top of my head and I was terrified of everything when I first got to Paws4you! They carried me a lot because I would barely walk. I am doing much better now and enjoy going for walks. I still need a patient adopter who has experience with timid behavior like mine. I know I can learn to trust humans again, but it will take time. I am affectionate with my favorite people and love to hug and get pet! I love treats too so that will help me warm up to you. I would probably do best in a home without young children who might startle me. If you are willing to go slow and not rush, please give me a chance. I would love to become a typical dog and not be scared anymore! Breed experience is preferred. Adopt me! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
