Posted Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). wagoninn.rescuegroups Springsteen is a very cute boy who is looking for a home. Springsteen is now in a NJ foster home. Mom Spirit wandered up to the home of an animal lover on Thanksgiving after being dumped nearby. She was very pregnant and huddled behind their barn. This kind family took her into their barn to give her a safe place to have her pups and fostered this sweet family until they came to NJ. The pups are sweet and playful. They were born on December 5, 2023. Mom Spirit is about 40 lbs. We have no info on dad. Springsteen and his siblings have received their first 2 DHPP vaccines and treatment for puppy parasites. Their adopters will need to continue their vaccine series including rabies at 4 months. Wag On Inn will arrange for the pups to be fixed and microchipped when they are approximately 6 months old at the Spay-Neuter center in Holmdel, NJ. Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. The adoption fee is $550 which includes their spay and microchip. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
