Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Name: Blossom Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 4 years old (as of 12/1) Best Guess for Breed: Terrier Mix Weight: About 32 lbs Good With: Dogs and people (including kids!). We haven’t seen her with cats, but can test her out for you! Story: Blossom was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina as a young dog. She was adopted out, but her adopter is no longer able to care for her due to no fault of her own. Blossom is a super sweetie that loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Blossom is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all young dogs, Blossom will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! BLOSSOM'S PERFECT MATCH: PERFECT FAMILY: A home with 1-2 adults. She’s good with kids, too! Blossom does well when guests come over, she will seek attention. At first, Blossom will be a bit shy but never aggressive. Blossom does well with other dogs her size or bigger with a proper introduction. She’s not a fan of small dogs. Blossom would do best with an active family that is able to give her exercise at least twice a day. We do not know how she will do around cats. PERFECT HOME: One with a fenced in yard away from the bustling city would be ideal! EXERCISE NEEDS: Blossom gets about 30-45 minutes of exercise in the morning and at night before bed. She goes to a large enclosed park and she will chase tennis balls and/or run with other dogs. She adores tugging with other dogs, and chasing them around the backyard. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Blossom is a super sweetie. She is a kisser and a cuddler. She loves to play with her toys and will follow you around the entire home if allowed. She takes naps on the couch or in her dog bed. She will approach humans and give them a sniff, and once she gets used to you, will ask for pets. She is not shy with humans and she is very careful when you feed her a snack from your hand. She is potty trained and only goes to the bathroom outside. She loves kids and will be very protective. You can expect her to always be by the kids and lying near them. She will bark at the door if anyone approaches it, so be nice to her, she's being a protector.
