Posted Breed: Jindo (Korean) / Mixed. Hi! My name is Jinsook! I'm a 12 year old, female, White Korean Jindo mix and weigh approximately 43lbs. I was surrendered by my owner on 4/26/2023 because my owner was moving and was not able to take me. I am currently living the good life in foster care while I wait for my new family. I am currently living with 3 big dogs (male and female) and get along well with all of them. I do need to be fed separately from other dogs when it's time to eat. Don't let my age fool you; I have some pep in her step and am still quite playful! I enjoy morning walks, with or without my friend Honey, and am good on the leash. I am a sweet, affectionate lady who enjoys being petted. I am house and crate trained. I do not get on the furniture (although I am allowed to do so and am capable of jumping on the couch). I would do best in a home without children or cats. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative! Because I am currently in foster, meet and greets will be scheduled by approved application only! IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
