Posted Breed: Hound / Mixed. Meet Lulu, the sweetest soul you'll ever encounter. Lulu is a roughly 6 year old hound mix and weighs about 75 pounds. She enjoys long, leisurely strolls through the neighborhood followed by endless hours of being your couch potato companion. Her favorite pastime is playing with plushy toys, which she handles with the gentlest of care. She would love a yard in her forever home too because she enjoys exploring all of the smells outside. Her loving and mellow nature makes her the perfect companion for both energetic playtimes and quiet evenings. Lulu is incredibly patient and loving, always ready to give affection and receive it in return. Lulu's easy-going demeanor means she adapts well to new environments and loves all of the people she meets including children. Lulu is house trained and loves car rides. She doesn't love being alone for a long time, so Lulu would like to find a home where her people are around most of the time - after all people are her favorite! She knows basic commands for treats, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. Lulu is not just a pet, but a loyal friend who will bring joy and companionship into your life. Adopt Lulu and let her show you the boundless love she has to offer. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
