Meet Ammolite (mostly tan) and Malachite (black and white) both 4 month old females who are truly little diamonds in the rough! They will need a little polishing for you to see their true personality, but are certain to sparkle! Ammolite loves everyone. She likes chew toys and squeeky toys. She sleeps through the night in a crate and is working on house training. She is learning to walk on a leash and will need someone who will teach/ train her to be the best dog she can be. Malachite really likes people, but is nervous. She will need a gentle family who is both patient and excited about socialization. Mali likes her chew toys and sleeps through the night in a crate. She is doing well with house training and is learning to walk on a leash. Her biggest need is a family that will help her learn that the world isn't that scary. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
