Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Pet Description: Persephone, one-year old as of early Jan '24, 40-45 lbs and while may be short-legged, this gal can sure jump meaning a tall fence is in order for her. She knows the short version of her name - Sephe. Loves to fetch balls and toys, knows sit for treats. Leash manners still need work as she is a bit of a bull in a china shop and will need a highly active owner who can perhaps take her for long hikes/jogs to help burn off some energy. She does love to be inside but not one you can leave alone inside or she gets into a lot of mischief. She is crate trained and was working on housetraining but not there 100% (take her out and she knows to do her stuff and look for a treat). But don't think to crate this gal eight-hours/day as too much energy for that. She is good with other dogs that can handle her physicality so no small dogs or cats please. Bit bullheaded and strong-willed so needs an owner who understands that. DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter). A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
