Norwegian Elkhound Litter of Puppies For Sale in MEADVILLE, PA, USA
Real home grown puppies. Born 4/22/2024. Ready to go on 6/17/2024. We haven't even found out the exact male to female count yet, but with so many puppies to sell we want to get an early start.
This is the only litter of puppies we've had on our farmette for over a year. We are NOT a kennel. The children will have spent hours playing with the little energy balls. Early, healthy interaction with children makes for well-mannered dogs, in our opinion.
Norwegian Elkhounds need lots of exercise. If you intend to buy a puppy for confined spaces, please do not buy one of these. As farm dogs, they are known to be excellent coyote deterrents, coon chasers, or ground hog destroyers. They are well suited to cold temperatures. Yes, they do shed hair but we think they are worth that bother. Our dogs are low-odor pooches. We hardly notice this benefit until we visit a place that has a - may we say it? - stinky dog!
Our Lexus, the dam, is not registered; Koda, the sire, is AKC registered. See photos for evidence of the beautiful poise of these dogs.

Koda is AKC registered. He is a beautiful Norwegian. Small side of medium sized. High energy. Belongs to a friend of ours.
Mother
Lexus is our family pet and grounds keeper. This is her second litter. She is friendly. Has never bitten a stranger (or anyone), yet is an excellent watchdog. She was terrible for chewing shoes and digging up flowerbeds as a puppy, but she is exceptionally intelligent and perceptive of human emotion. We chose to keep her from a former litter for our family pet, partly because of her apparent understanding of our wishes. Now don't read this wrongly. UNDERSTANDING what we wanted and DOING what we wanted are two different things. True to Norwegian Elkhound lore, she has a mind of her own -- like giving birth to her puppies under the girl's playhouse in the dirt where we could hardly get to them-- But after we moved her and her brood into the straw-lined nest in our barn, she accepted our opinion and is being a wonderful mother.
