Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky / American Eskimo Dog / Mixed. Ares Don’t let her size deceive you—Ares is a gentle giant at heart! This confident, cream-and-white beauty is the self-appointed leader of her litter, always the first to decide when it’s time to eat, play, or nap. She loves pouncing on her siblings during playtime, snuggling up for cozy naps, and enjoying every single mealtime with enthusiasm. Ares and her mom, Athena, were rescued from the Moreno Valley Shelter when the puppies were just a few weeks old. Thanks to the safety and care of their foster home, they’ve been able to grow, thrive, and show their sweet, playful personalities. While her exact breed is a bit of a mystery, we expect Ares to grow into a medium-sized dog with a soft, fluffy coat that’s just as cuddly as her personality. Her adoption fee includes her spay at our vet when she’s old enough, up-to-date vaccines, and a microchip. Apply to adopt Ares at .kpprescue and give this confident, loving girl the forever home she deserves!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Huskimo is a captivating crossbreed, combining the alert intelligence of the American Eskimo Dog with the adventurous spirit of the Siberian Husky. Originating from designer breed efforts to blend desirable traits, Huskimos typically present a striking appearance with a thick, double coat that can vary in color from white and cream to black and grey, often inheriting the Husky’s piercing blue or bi-colored eyes. Physically, they are medium-sized dogs, generally weighing between 30-60 pounds, showcasing a sturdy build. Temperamentally, they are known for being intelligent, energetic, and often quite playful, making them good companions for active families. However, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation mean they are generally not well-suited for apartment living unless sufficient exercise and engagement are provided. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions like cataracts, and thyroid issues, inherited from their parent breeds. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial to developing a well-adjusted Huskimo.
