Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact (Current Owner of Dog): MEET DAISY #29!! Meet your future best friend! This sweet girl is a loving and loyal companion who simply wants to be close to her people. Rescued alongside her son, she has come a long way and is now ready to find a patient, understanding home where she can continue to build confidence and feel safe. Like many rescue dogs, she still experiences some anxiety at times, but with love and consistency, she truly blossoms into a devoted and affectionate companion. She has a calm, gentle nature and is rarely vocal, only barking occasionally when startled or when something seems out of the ordinary. She loves cozy comforts—especially fuzzy blankets—and has a playful side that really shines when toys come out. Fetch is her absolute favorite activity, and she would happily chase a ball for hours if allowed! She would thrive with someone who enjoys interactive play and can help her balance excitement with rest. She also enjoys walks and outdoor time, though she can be a strong puller on the leash and would benefit from continued training and guidance. Because she has always been with her son, training in the past has been more challenging, but she has so much potential in a calm, one-on-one environment where she can fully focus and grow. Affectionate to her core, she is happiest when she can stay close to her person. She is truly a “shadow dog” who will follow you from room to room, happily keeping you company throughout the day. Her adorable smile, expressive ears, and stocky little “hippo” build make her impossible not to fall in love with. She has done very well on Hill’s Science Diet for the past two years and has been thriving on it. Her son is also available for adoption. While the two are bonded and could certainly stay together in the right home, it’s believed they would also do well separately based on their individual personalities and needs. Her son: REGIS's web page on Underdog Rescue of Arizona, LLC This beautiful girl is simply looking for a stable, loving home where she can feel secure, continue gaining confidence, and finally relax into the happy life she deserves. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
