She is a medium energy pup who loves a good romp in the yard and chasing toads around the garden. She would be a wonderful fit for any home ready to embrace her playful, outgoing spirit. Karli is friendly and social with other dogs, running over to say hello to everyone she meets and backing off politely if a dog needs space. She lived with a cat for several weeks without any issues and would do just fine with a feline sibling. Her friendly and outgoing nature suggests she would likely do great with kids too. Karli is a smart girl who loves chewing on toys while lounging on the couch between outdoor adventures. She is fully crate trained and settles in throughout the day and overnight without any issues. As a typical pup, Karli is working on her potty training and does best on a consistent schedule, continuing to make great progress every day. She is learning her leash manners and is already doing pretty well with just a little weaving here and there. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
