This pup's adoption fee is $850. If you are still interested, please read more below. Meet Helena, aka Helly! Helly is a fluffy little ping-pong ball with endless energy, unlimited kisses, and an exceptionally cute underbite. She is playful, affectionate, and very social, happily greeting any friendly face she meets. Helly loves being outside and is currently learning how to walk on a leash. She’s also a little magnet who likes to stay close to her people wherever they go. Her favorite toy is her rope for a good game of tug-of-war, and since she’s still teething, she also enjoys having plenty of toys to chew on. She loves treats and is working on basic commands, leash skills, and potty training. Helly also makes a wonderful little work-from-home companion and is perfectly happy hanging out nearby while you’re at your desk, although sometimes she decides being held is much better! She’s still a young puppy and isn’t shy about letting you know when she wants some attention. This pup is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and spayed. The new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Please note ARF does not approve applications for any puppy under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL. Overview:
The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
