Posted Breed: Rottweiler / American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Are you looking for an extraordinarily intelligent boy to join your family? I may be the one!! My name is Pollo but everyone at FMAR calls me Po. When I first arrived at FMAR as a stray, I was so skinny that you could see my ribs. No one came to take me home and I'm still waiting for someone to come and meet me to see how wonderful I am! I have dreams of becoming an agility dog because I am such a quick learner! I love spending time in the training room running through my obstacle course. I am full of excitement and energy and want to work very hard every day to learn new things. Sometimes I'm a little nervous meeting new people, but I LOVE treats so give me a couple and I'm your best friend! I know that I need to continue working on basic training so I need an experienced owner who will challenge my brain and body every day. Since I was so neglected before I came to FMAR, I can be possessive of my food or toys. The volunteers know that I can be distracted by tossing a tiny treat. I also like my meals given in a Kong Wobbler to make my mind and body work. If you have children, I hope they are older. I have a whole lot of energy, and may be a bit too much for some families. However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE! I am spayed/neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $250, which covers all of the medical care I have received. If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website at .friendsofmichigan/dog-adoption-application **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
